"It's not weeks until the final decision," according to the source. "It's months." [View news story]
Could you elaborate on how increasing supply either to the US or the international market will lift the price? I am interested to see the big pictures here. Plus I do not believe US would give anything free. there are tons of ways to claim a share from this project imho

i am not quite following this. normal trade of gld is just the shares from the seller to the buyer; unless some giant holder start redeeming their gld shares, there is no physical flow of gold in gld. this is just my opinion. and gld is backed by physical gold, it's nothing like leveraging.
A bipartisan Senate bill would force all banks to hold capital of 10% and those with over $400B in assets an extra 5%. The strictest provisions would hit six banks: JPMorgan (JPM), BofA (BAC), Citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC), Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS). Analysts reckon the bill has little chance of becoming law, although its authors reckon support for the measures are growing. [View news story]

Hi Douglas,
I am a 24 years old novice investor and have been following your recommendation regarding EV funds for a while now. I am curious what is the justification for these EV funds' discounts over long term? To me most of the discount/premium are reasonable as long as they are within +/- 5% range. Discount rates near or over 10% throughout a long period of time like these definitely mean either the market perception or something internal such as management is wrong. How do you look at such facts and what do you think the underlying risks for holding these funds in retirement savings account for long term? Thank you. Tony
