I got out of KOG at $9.06 when I saw oil prices go down $11 from $105 to $94 in 9-days. Now it's at the $83 area & KOG continues tanking. The macro picture looks bad for Shale Oil as there is a proposed glut of it coming on line just as the whole world's economy is drying up and newer US cars gasoline mileage is getting so good that east coast refineries are shutting down. Even the best stock in a hit sector will go down with it. This could last for a few years.

  • Avoid The Uncertainty: Cash In On Kodiak Now [View article]
I am no short term trader, but when I see a trend coming that will hurt my investment I have no qualms about hitting the "sell" button. Sold KOG at 9.06 on 1st $11 of oil price drop ($105 to $94). Now Raymond James predicted $65 oil in 2013 and downgraded what appears to be the whole Shale Oil Patch. There ain't no bargains there, the rush for the exits is on.

  • Kodiak Highly Leveraged To Downside In Oil Prices [View article]
Raymond James just predicted $65 oil in 2013 and downgraded what appears to be the whole Shale Oil Patch. Looks like the trend is in and the rush for the exits is on. As per above "Sold at 9.06 on 1st $11 of oil price drop ($105 to $94)."

  • Raymond James downgrades a litany of big energy stocks, believing crude oil prices will average $65/bbl in 2013 as “oil fundamentals have only gotten worse." E&P names reduced: APA, APC, BPZ, CLR, CXO, DNR, EXXI, PXD, QEP, REN, WLL, GDP, KOG, OXY, PQ, SFY, OAS, SM, NOG, BRY, COP, FST, ROSE.  [View news story]
World economy just too bad. US Shale Oil production just too good. It's one of those conundrums that just shouldn't happen, but as they say, timing is everything. Almost every other commodity's hit the pits, everyone takes their turn, what's so special about oil?

  • Questcor (QCOR +3.5%) moves higher on positive comments out of its conference call this morning to discuss the commercialization of its rheumatology drug, Acthar. Oppenheimer says its highly encouraged by the not only the drugs prospects, but also the company's ability to execute its strategy, while both Caris and Jefferies say Street estimates don't factor in the drug effectively, and will have to move higher.  [View news story]
Particularly peculiar that an Oppenheimer Fund has a substantial stake in QCOR, ain't it?

Dun at $9.06 as oil passed under 95. Nothing like sitting stress free on the sidelines while stocks get fried. Buying back at the bottom. Yeah, right!
