Quite an indepth analysis.
One mistake I noticed is that Carmax was being traded before 2002.I bought some in 2000 when all analyst had either a sell or no interest.Investors Business Daily had it ranked at the bottom of their stock universe. It was considered a penney stock most had discarded.Of course, this info.was found after I bought.
Today,Carmax is part of the S&P 500 and still growing. The company is opening new stores as it continues to gain market share.
All the numbers crunching in the world could not have predicted the move the stock has had since 2000. What do the numbers tell you now? I see you don't own the stock.
After taking some profits,I will continue to own shares of Carmax as a "house money" play, because I think Carmax, will at some point, own at least 10% of the used car market.
With that 10% figure in mind Carmax can grow revenues 4 times higher than today's annual sales. When exactly this will happen?
I cannot tell you. What I can tell you is that since 2000 this stock has been my portfolios best performer.

If it's one thing I know...making a prediction can be dangerous, especially when it's about the future.
With the stock(not company) CLNE I like to make a bet it goes up in the longterm and just put it in my portfolio and take a ride up,down, all around. Committing it to a 1%-2% initial position. It is tempting to add more or sell some depending on the direction it is moving. My decision was made when I bought back in March 2011.
I like the story and believe it is a quality high risk play.I can wait forever to see how it all plays out. My intentions are not to lose money, therefore I won't hessitate to sell and walk away if neccesary. So far, about even.
I am long (http://bit.ly/HI97wd)

Here's what I see in (KMX).
Having been a long term holder of this stock,it has done very well for my portfolio.Believe it or not? I got into this stock on Feb.1,2000 @1.7/8ea.A small bet has returned big gains.
All analysts as well as any ratings on this stock back then were negative.Morningstar rated it as a distressed stock.
My theory then remains the same today.(I have taken some profits over the years but still hold over half of my original investment).
Then, the used car market nation-wide was projected to be 350bil.dollars.I can only guess it has grown since 2000.
My thinking is if Carmax can obtain just 10% of the used car market, over time, the stock price will grow.
Carmax revenues were about 10bil last year.If they continue to grow market share I will continue holding.
If they make it to 10% of the market,or more, their revenues would quadruple from here. The stock price should follow.

I am long (KMX).
