  • BlackBerry Shareholders Cheer Up, It Will Get Worse [View article]
to the author. I realize turnarounds are not easy. And Blackberry is not out of the woods yet. But the new CEO has made many bold strides in the short time he has been at the helm of the (sinking ship) and addressed a multitude of problems plaguing BB.. He even made some surprise announcements that totally caught the analysts and shorties off guard! So why don't we let him do his job and stop bashing BB and making pessimistic proclamations! Yes Palm, Nortel, and some other companies died despite having good products , but look at Apple, IBM, Telsa motors, Chrysler, Ford, GM and even Nokia, they seem to have recovered, so why can't BB do the same. One last word of advice, buy a new Q10 or Z30 you will never look back trust me. AIso the best phone on the market right now, and it will help BB get back on track if more people do this.

So far from what i can see, the Stock market has given the new CEO the benefit of the doubt, and they like what they see. Keep in mind the stock market was ready to bury BB stock, but after they saw and heard what the new CEO was going to do to turn the company around, they relented and gave him a vote of confidence. That is a very strong statement and vote of confidence. Sure the stock will go down in the short term. but at least it didn't tank and i think that was what the new CEO was trying to prevent.

I sense some bitterness from some of the shortys, but lets put it this way, don't count on the stock falling too much. I think that it was a brilliant move by JC to wait until the CC to announce the Foxcomm deal. That is what averted a major disaster! Also you can bet there will be more sneaky announcements like the foxcomm deal, just in the nick of time, from time to time. So short traders you better watch your back! I think wall street realized JC is very capable and they will now lay off JC for a while to see what he can do. I think the negative articles and media bashing is going to cease for now.

The one thing i find amazing is after all this time that the Iphone has been out, the typing experience on an Iphone is atrocious, compared to the Z10 or Q10! Now we have this misguided individual investing big bucks in designing some mickey mouse keyboard you attach to the Iphone. Seriously are you joking! But then no one said an Iphone user is too bright, so they will probably buy them!

I think its only a matter of time before Iphone and Samsung users realize they are being taken advantage of. Eventually they will catch on and then they will start trying and using BB10 devices and will never go back to using outdated OS devices, like Android and IOS.

  • BlackBerry moving away from high-end consumer phone market [View news story]
@ hard , listen hard the reason the stock went up is because the market and the shorts saw that JC is for real and he is making bold moves to make sure Blackberry will succeed with their restructuring. They knew the results were going to be bad and it was already factored in. If JC had fumbled the ball at the CC and didn't say anything to instill confidence that BB was on the road to recovery then yes this would of been a disaster the shorts were looking for. But he didn't fumble and said all the things that the market wanted to hear, as well as that surprise of the deal with Foxcom (which nobody was expecting) to ensure that they can be profitable and sell phones in the emerging markets.

at gamblin why not, right now BB needs to start making sales and ramp up adoption of BB10 OS. They need to start becoming profitable. The high end sales will come once BB10 Os becomes more popular and App ecosystem grows.

The extra money they are seeking is in case they need more money down the road to continue their restructuring. So get the money now, because later it might not be possible to get more money. So there you go, there is no conspiracy, going on, and it doesn't mean the next Q will be better or worse than expected, just get the money now while we still can. Okay. A lot of companies do that , so this is not uncommon. Ford borrowed $25,000,000,000, remember that? Now look where they are! So all you doomsayer put a cork in it!

  • BlackBerry: Misdirection And Misconceptions [View article]
The one interesting fact i noticed in your article is how much market share apple has lost world wide! It seems like Samsung has a stranglehold on this market, and WP phone for gods sake is creeping up on Apple!. As far as Sammy and Iphone security being just as good as Blackberry, you must be joking! The German government and DOD have given those companies the thumbs down!

  • BlackBerry's BBM Is A Threat To Facebook And Twitter, Here's Why [View article]
@Usajordi, there is nothing BB can do about the stock price right now. If it goes lower it goes lower. JC has to worry about what he plans to do to get the company, making money again, not how to make the stock price go up! If he succeeds in making the company profitable the stock price will go up for sure!

  • BlackBerry's Death Has Been Greatly Exaggerated [View article]
@mvermaak Like i said in one of my postings, when BB announced they were for sale that's what put them in this situation. After that announcement many companies put their purchases on hold or moved to other phones. So now JC has to clear up this mess. I believe he will, but then who knows for sure.
