I agree that the market is predictable. My non-artificial intelligent brain predicted that 99.12467% of the dividend aristocrats will increase their dividend this year with a correlation near 1.0.

I would take the other side of this argument. Dividend growth investors are the ones who saved enough in their lifetimes to live on the 3-4% dividend yield. If my situation was so "dire" that I could not live on the dividend yield of my portfolio, then I would have no choice but to invest in the S&P 500 and hope for capital gains to bail me out of my "dire" situation.
