Your don't discard the $4.99 bottle. It's reusable for years unlike Coke or Pepsi.

I've been using my SODA maker for almost two years and still like and use it. It's the convenience of not having to lug gallons, OK liters, of flavored water from the store or running out of soda and having to drive to the store for more.

  • Green Mountain: Too Far, Too Fast [View article]
They have "identified many efficiencies that would "lower cost and improve quality." All I can say is don't mess with my K-Cups. I like them just fine.

What a cheap guy! I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars to get my car fixed and he won't spend 70 cents on me.

Oh yes! It's pricey, but I'm worth it. No cheap knock-offs for me.

Excellent well researched article. What's next, a cup of fizzy java in the morning? I'm long both GMCR and SODA for now.

  • Green Mountain's Comeback [View article]
True fact. Competition in general increases visibility and garners greater interest in a company's products. That said the K-Cups at out super marked are moving briskly even with the cheaper alternatives available. I for one will not switch to a cheaper knockoff .

  • Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Shares Get A Boost From Snapple [View article]
People buy coffee by taste not price. So they are unlikely to switch to a different brand just because it's cheaper. Yes, there will be competition but K-Cups will survive and flourish.

  • Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Management's Comments About Inventory Don't Add Up [View article]
I'm not well enough informed to argue long versus short positions, but at our local super market the K-Cups are moving briskly even after the sale price ended. Seems like good news for GMCR.
