  • Explaining The Worldwide PC Slump [View article]
One has to ask George, do his son or daughter do their school projects on a smartphone, tablet or laptop/pc?
So the social media may be on a smartphone or tablet but laptop/pc is needed for any other use. And their usage will continue to grow although at a slower rate.

  • Microsoft: Set To Make A U-Turn [View article]
It is not clear what the headline of the article means. A lot of facts but very confusing conclusions.

  • Sell The Intel Upgrade [View article]
The author must be short Intel to come up with this note so quickly. Glen Young of ML has a stellar track record making calls.

  • Is A Takover In The Cards For Micron? [View article]
Micron has a wide array of customers besides Apple. What happens to them if acquired by Apple? The idea of Apple acquisition does not make sense.

  • The Problem With Intel Is Intel... And Microsoft [View article]
@RussFischer you are out of touch in this touch revolution. Microsoft has leaped forward with Win8.1 to provide the touch capability on all its devices. That is the future going forward and that leaves Apple and Chrome behind the curve.

  • Microsoft Finally Gained Some Momentum: But Is It Deserved? [View article]
The author's Q2/14 estimates for Hardware D&C do not make sense.
If 6 million XBOX One are sold then that is $3B
If 1 million Surface are sold then that is about $650 M
So the total is $3.6B and more due to other hardware.
And the author's estimate is $1.8B.
    Something is wrong. Needs clarification.

  • The Problem With Intel Is Intel... And Microsoft [View article]
I think Widows 8.1 is a great product and will be successful as the touch devices become more available. I use it on HP Envy X2 detachable as well as older Desktop which previously had Win7 and I like even though it has non touch monitor. When the current desktop needs replacement I will buy all-in-one desktop with touch monitor. I find win8.1 with touch has great flexibility and take over as the time goes. Apple is behind the curve on this. They made statements that will make them hard to get on laptop and desktops unless they get a new CEO.

  • 1 Important Reason Why Intel's Broadwell Production Delay Is A Negative [View article]
Very confusing and misleading article. First he talks about 3 months delay and then he talks about Apple's need by 2017. Auther's background is in economics and business and yet he tackles technology issues with very little understandings of what it takes to qualify a new technology. Samsung and TSMC could have worse problems.

  • Micron: Outlook Robust With DDR4 Launch At Intel's IDF Today [View article]
Apple will not buy Micron. Apple has never made large acquisition. Too large for Apple to manage.

  • Did Nokia Sell Out To Microsoft Too Soon? [View article]
This deal is about the long term strategy for Nokia and not one quarter gain. Nokia just does not have marketing resources of Samsung to promote their products. So Nokia shareholders do not have much choice but to approve the deal.

  • Will Nokia Phones Make A Comeback In 2015? [View article]
Nokia is done with phones. The management will decide to do anything but phones after all that happened.
This article is a pure waste of time.

  • How Many Lumia Phones Must Be Sold For Nokia To Break Even? [View article]
I was in Best Buys yesterday, Collegeville, PA. At AT&T and Verizon counters not a single Lumia was on demo. Very bad marketing by Nokia and BB. How can they sell if they do not promote. Does not bode well for sales of Lumia in US.

  • Is Nokia Going Into The Camera Market? [View article]
The author is very ill informed about the Nokia products. It has a very wide ranging product line from 521, 925, 928, 920 and now 1020, not to mention 620 and 720. So this is the top of the line. And definitely a step forward and not backward. The author has preconceived conclusion and written this bunch of nonsense.

  • Why Microsoft Is Unlikely To Continue Outperforming [View article]
Good article based on the historical data. But many noted analysts have been wrong on the stock. Just before the April earnings when the stock was 27 Rick Sherlund of Nomura reduced his rating to neutral and target price down from 38 to 32. GS analyst Heather Bellini made the worst call, went from neutral to sell and target 27. The stock ran up to 35 and Rick Sherlund then changes his target to 38. So many analysts are trend followers.
The stocks move what lies ahead. There is a lot happening at Microsoft today and the stock is headed for high 40s.
