time for apple to see the future....tim cook has the best seat to look into apple's future, not carl icahn, therefore ,i think they can speed up the original buyback and then decide how big to go on the next buyback

  • Apple: Tim Cook's Brilliant Move [View article]
share buybacks are used to use capital effectively, excess capital on a balance sheet does not help a company reduces their excess capital it becomes a useful means of increasing their earnings/share,those shareholders are rewarded with a greater % of the corporation....the sellers of the stock can either walk away or look to reenter the stock, their choice.Since Tim Cook is just another shareholder, his % of the company increases the same as mine.I was please to learn that apple took advantage of a short sided ,over reaction to what any really intelligent investor would consider a monster quarter.Consider that the company shipped over 51 million iphones, are you really saying that the stock should sell off 8%....because ,a group of analysis assumed that the company should have shipped 56 million.....well done ,tim cook....wake up wall street

  • How Apple May Fail In China [View article]
i just have one comment and i would like everyone who reads this to 5c in usa sells for $ 5c in china sells for $733....that is not apple's problem...sounds like a product made in china without the expense to ship to usa,pay tariffs to usa gov't is almost $200 more,i would say that the chiness gov't is saying "stick it to apple for employing over 1 million china workers",as far as the rest of the nonsense, let them buy refurbished 4s,when and if they ever get their network up and running.....

  • New versions of iOS and Mac OS X will be unveiled at Apple's (AAPL +0.8%) June 10-14 WWDC conference, the company announces. Meanwhile, with shares near $400, the sell-side is much more cautious in its post-earnings comments than it was at higher levels. "These Apples won't harvest before fall," writes Deutsche's Chris Whitmore, disappointed at earnings call remarks suggesting major product launches won't arrive until autumn. "Apple needs to introduce a 5-inch iPhone, a new 5S, and a low cost iPhone." Jim Cramer wasn't pleased with the call either. "This is the kind of conference call that was a revolt against management ... management is in complete denial." (previous[View news story]
you are 100% correct....the post "jobs" apple is going to evolve, they will maintain the excellent attention to details, plus they understand that customers, shareholders and employees all want the same thing...great products that do what they are intended to do.....any company that makes the kind of money that apple does will always have periods, when rather then just throw something that is almost good enough will hold back until it's "great"....they run this company ....not wall street.....wall street can only see as far as the next trade, advise to all shareholders....stay long

  • Apple: Tim Cook's Brilliant Move [View article]
i know that major corporations like ibm,xom and ge have done buybacks for years to jettison excess capital and increase shareholder values, why is apple being punished because they have followed the same proven path .Great companies like those named above consider long term knows the pipeline and considers this means as a way to tell wall street that our future is bright and that considering the free cash flow and earnings,a wise investment in apple shares is a prudent and thoughtful way to spend shareholders money.Google on the other hand took shareholders money and bought motorola, losing ,how much???.......wall street is very happy with that...stock goes up...michael,i may disagree with you ,but given the choice between the 2 companies ,i think that apple made the right choice,as Andy Reid would say,the time is yours
