Interesting research, but it lacks a very important piece of the puzzle... inflation. Growth is wonderful, but only if it outpaces inflation by a good margin. I don't know the inflation rates of these countries off the top of my head, but I believe China and Russia are over 10% annually; whereas the U.S. is still below 3% core inflation (that is, if you believe the CPI data).

I couldn't agree with you more! This is a very dangerous balancing act the Fed is playing, and I think the chances of failure are higher than they've been in a very long time. If foreign investors continue to lose faith in the US Dollar there is a risk for very high inflation rates when those dollars start coming home. This would be a scenario that feeds upon itself, and could cause the worst recession we've seen since the 1930's.
