Green Mountain: Starbucks Deal Hides Poor Report [View article]
Its conversations like this that led to me to abandon investing/trading on fundamentals and simply looking at the technicals and price action.
Shorts continue to go on and on about numbers, agreements on products, whether 13.53% is good enough when estimates are higher, but all I care about is what does the chart say.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2013 GAAP EPS of $0.87 and Non-GAAP EPS of $0.93 Representing Growth of 50% and 45% Respectively Over the Prior Year Period [View article]
How long before the next short case is posted on SA? LOL

Blackberry 10 is the *OPERATING SYSTEM*, the Z10 is the hardware device. Samsung is releasing a new phone (hardware), not a new version of Andriod OS.
You are comparing apples and hammers.
Galaxy IV will not change the Android OS that ran on the S III and so on, the Z10 runs a brand new OS. Get it?
"5) There is no credible evidence that the loyal Apple users are going to switch out of the confines of the Apple world."
So you just choose to willfully disbelieve the quoted research in the article or did you read it?
Here it is again: Piasentin, who runs the company's U.S. business, said more than 33% of Z10 buyers in the U.K. are also new to the platform. A company representative added that the figures from the U.K. and Canada were based on preliminary data gathered from early sales.
Super well for whom? For the employment rate it was designed to raise? For the middle class working man that has seen his basic cost of living rise?
Perhaps you need to qualify your statement? Then, since these injections are so good for us, why not do them forever? Why not zero percent rates forever?
Why not buy 100 trillion per month instead of 85 billion?

"The retiring Clinton is using her final days at State to keep chipping away at China over the level the government subsidizes its industries and on the issue of intellectual property theft."
You have to be kidding me, right? The US govt subsidizes farmers, auto mfrs, and a whole host of other rent seekers in this country. . .
"I still don't know one single person at work or at grad school that has a windows tablet. All I see in class are Ipads and Iphones."
You're missing the point! No one is saying people don't like iPhone/iPads. They do sell but they are toys that people use to play games, listen to music and text their friends. It is not a serious device for business use nor for productivity purposes! How many of those grad students are banging our their theses on the iPad?
Most probably don't own a third-party bluetooth keyboard either.
My wife has an iPhone 5, does not use Bluetooth, seldom browses the web, doesn't use it for music and mainly uses it for texting, and making lots of phone calls.
Its charged up every night and is usually charged at least once in the late afternoon. . .battery is not that good.
My Blackberry Bold 9900 is used to do many things during the day and there is no need to recharge.
Green Mountain Remains A Short Candidate [View article]
The short case existed when this stock was above 100, and even at 70 after that, but I've read the same kind of arguments for when this stock was 18, 25, and now nearly 40.

And you're right, technicals aren't the only thing, but they are the only thing that inform my trading/investing philosophy for several years now.
The case for fundamentals is no longer valid with a zombie economy like what we see in the US.
