  • Master Limited Partnership ETFs Vs. ETNs, Which Is Better? [View article]
I own IMLP in my Schwab IRA, and AMLP in my ETrade brokerage account. Your article made me feel like a pretty wise investor! The yield is worth some of the headaches that can come with MLPs. Watch out for pipeline plays to hold their ground and move to the upside in the next 2-3 years. Oil and gas is being drilled hard and fast and it needs to be transported!
I like RGP as a singular play....

Are the wells producing for BPT vertical? And if so, can BP go in and drill newer horizontals with way more production potential? Or does the trust have it written that the current wells are the wells.

Thanks...I enjoyed your article and responses.

  • Is BP Prudhoe Bay Fund Really A Good Short? [View article]
The last time a bear case was made against BPT, the shares plummeted from $109 to $72. Let's hope that something similar doesn't happen this time.

Will an increase in technology create any opportunity for the production in Alaska to increase? For instance, if they went in and re-fractured or pumped or stimulated the wells? That may offset some of the downside here...

  • Kaiser makes bear case on BPT [View news story]
This same argument was made last year or so and it ripped BPT down from $109 to $72. I don't like owning BPT at $75 when reports like this come out. Guess it's time to scale back in soon and get the cost average to $40...

  • 5 MLPs For The Next 10 Years Yielding 7% [View article]
I have been a big fan of MLPs for years, owning ETP, RGP, and LINE respectively. I am in cash right now as I have seen a big run in my RL, CVX, RGP, and my beloved APC.
I will be the first to get back into LINE or RGP or even ETP when the dust settles. But my gut tells me it is an August/September time frame.
I appreciate solid articles like this one, as well as intelligent comments.
K-1s are not that big a deal when you are talking about safe and sound income from a fat yielding MLP. In fact, I have done some K-1s over the past few years with a huge smile on my face...

I am looking to re-renter RGP on a significant pullback. I see their growth potential as strong, and their distributions relatively stable.
