  • If Dish (DISH -2.3%) fails to buy Sprint (S +13.8%), it will have "few other attractive options" in mobile, points out TownHall Research: it thinks Dish's mobile efforts could be delayed by a over a year if Sprint turns it down. FBR notes Sprint, Dish, and Clearwire (CLWR -3.2%) have a combined $45B in debt, and predicts a higher bid from SoftBank (SFTBF.PK), whose scale and ability to reposition Sprint remain selling points. With Charlie Ergen saying Dish wants to differentiate its offerings via integrated services rather than pricing, rivals (T, VZ, PCS) are likely hoping Dish beats out SoftBank, which many believe plans to launch a price war. • Sprint (S -1%) and Clearwire (CLWR +13.1%) are "moving closer" to a deal in which the former would buy the 49% of the latter it doesn't own, sources tell David Faber. He adds Sprint has been talking with Clearwire shareholders about buying their stakes for ~$3/share, and that a deal could be announced by year's end. Clearwire has spiked to $2.72, while MetroPCS (PCS -1%) has ticked lower. PCS was clocked last week after Reuters reported Sprint is unlikely to make a bid before its SoftBank (SFTBF.PK) deal closes. Update: The WSJ backs up Faber's report. [View news story]
If clwr is trading around 2.70-2.75, would't a take over value the stock alot higher than $3.00? 5.00 6.00 7.00 8.00. Any ideas.
    Please help with ideas thanks

In anyone's opinion, can someone give guess on where the price of stock would be based on, if this or this or this happens in say 90 or 120 days. Thanks for all the help and advice.

  • Buried within the prospectus for Time Warner Cable's (TWC) 46.4M-share public offering  of Clearwire (CLWR -9.5%) stock is a disclosure that Comcast (CMCSA) has notified Clearwire it plans to convert its 88.5M Class B shares (6.1% of all outstanding shares) into Class A shares, which it would be free to sell to the public. With Comcast having abandoned its wireless ambitions this year, it's not far-fetched to imagine some or all of those shares being sold in the near future. [View news story]
Also, if it a good thing that they are selling there shares in clwr, how come each time it is done ( think 2 big dumps so far), the stock takes a big hit.
Sorry to be such an idiot thanks
