  • Axion Power Concentrator 382: Nov. 22, 2014 [View instapost]
I wanted to toss out this question for speculation only. I believe I mentioned this a while ago but wanted to bring it back up. I spoke with DDG a few times when he first took over as CEO and he pretty much discouraged me in regards to expecting any of TG's promised significant orders. However during one of the conversations he did mention that Axion had recently shipped a "bunch" of batteries to a "truck manufacturer" and he added that just one deal like that would be all it would take for Axion to launch. When I attempted to pry more he shut the subject right down and I felt like he was possibly regretting mentioning it.

A few months have passed since that conversation and my question is how long would a fleet test for something like a Diesel engine stop start system take? What would the shortest possible time frame be?

Not attempting to spin anything here, I still hold a bunch of this stock but I have pretty much moved on from the everyday focus on this story and am only checking in occasionally in case something good finally occurs! Still "hoping" for that miracle!

    Mr, I,

I believe you and are in alignment with the new CEO's opportunity that was somewhat pushed upon him. I sure hope he does get into this opportunity and finds a way to turn this story around but with this latest funding I am not impressed.

I certainly am wishing him great success but like I mentioned before, I am no longer drinking the cool aid, I have moved on to Scotch!!

    Ramna,

I understand that my comments do not jive with the so called predictions and like I stated, maybe things have or are changing. All I know is that I had a few legnthy discussions with the new CEO and I did not come away feeling optimistic at all. Some here are painting DDG as a man with a plan and was brought in to take over but that is not the story told to me by DDG.

Mind you my conversations with DDG were only approximately 5 weeks after my last conversation with TG when he reaffirmed to me that the significant orders would not be much longer. DDG told me he saw NO significant orders in sight and he even mentioned he was not impressed with the top sales guy!

Of course that was then and this is now and maybe those significant orders that TG promised well over a year ago are finally maturing into some form of reality. I truly do believe that the PbC is a product that will find its place and it should be huge but I am not of the belief that Axions BOD and TG have led the company down the correct path to success. DDG told me that they have 6 months to find some significant sales or else! Maybe they are starting to find them now!

    Mr. I,

DDG and the CFO Trego is the connection. DDG told me they worked together in the past. I don't believe DDG was interested in being really involved in Axion at all and when TG became ill he was kinda pressurred into helping out and taking the CEO position.

I spoke with DDG a few times at the beginning of his tenure and he did not seem well informed nor very interested in taking over the controls of the company with it being in such bad shape. He told me that I should have had a clue about the state of the companies health when they announced the 1 of 50 reverse split and the fact that TG had been the CEO for so long without any real sales. He also stated that he saw NO "Significant Orders" in Axions near future and was not aware of what TG was promising.

Maybe things have changed since then but I am not drinking anymore of the cool aid !

    HTL,

    I don't believe it for a moment!

"'Course it was all in ignorance but I've gotten used to operating in that mode."

I believe everything you do and say is informed and based on knowledge and experience! Your just being too humble!

    ;-))

Thanks for all your insight! Always appreciated.

After speaking with DDG a few times I believe that we will be seeing a new approach in regards to how information is provided. I believe that TG was overly optimistic and mislead us with his expectations of significant orders and such. My opinion is that DDG does not plan on leading us along by feeding us cleverly worded unfinished sentences like TG did and then allow us to fantasize about the true meaning.

DDG will provide information when it has been validated. With the RS and funding approaching Axion's story will be reset and a new beginning will be initiated. I think DDG will be interacting with us in a similar fashion of a newly developed and launched company with little or no traction. I don't believe he is going to speak about any potential business such as NS or auto and his restatement of the potential new investors seems to support my beliefs. I believe he plans to reduce our current expectations back to the order of a new start up company and then if/when those significant orders do arrive we will here about them after the ink is dry!

    Just my opinion

    geo,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, much appreciated.

I found the info encouraging but unfortunately I have no idea on timelines which would be the real powerful info! I am just "hopeful" that maybe the engineering has been ongoing for a long time and now the fleet test or similar stage is started. As mentioned by many here much more knowgeable that I that this could take a long time or not! The mystery continues!

The good news is that a "bunch" of batteries have been received by a truck company so they continue to move forward and I believe that provides additional validation that the PbC continues to perform in this (whatever it is) application!

    HTL,

I was told of the shipment around the middle of July and it was presented as it had been recent!

I understand this provides little clarity in regards to timing but does not eliminate the possibility of it being prior the end of June.

About 3 weeks or so ago I learned some information that I have been reluctant to post due to the fact that I will not be able to provide substantiation of my source. Since this is the case please feel free to label this as a rumor and dismiss it at will. But since the recent release of the S1 and the discussion of the $2 million cap ex monies I decided to throw this out into the speculation!

With that said, I heard that a "bunch" of PbC batteries had been shipped to a Truck OEM!

It is my speculation that this "bunch" of batteries could possibly be for a fleet test for a potential stop/start initiative that has been ongoing for approximately 18 months or longer. Of course it could also be something like the APU application.

A question for iindelco or anyone; approximately how long could it take for a successful fleet test before talks of a production run could start to take place? Is this a 6 month or potential multi year process?

    Stefan,

All I can tell you is that I am not attempting to mislead.

Why they are in a quiet period I do not know but do find it very interesting! What could it be? Is it because they are in negotiations for financing?

I could speculate on things like strategic investor or such but I truly have no idea!

    Rick,

I agree with you. But I have been told that Axion is definitely in a quiet period! Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to reveal how I was informed of this nor do I know why they are.

Please feel free to not believe me regarding this info. I will take no offense as I am not comfortable in posting these "rumors" without backing it up with the supporting evidence.

I have had this knowledge for a while and just now decided to share it even though it is unsubstantiated!

    ii,

Have you considered that Axion is in a quiet period and not in a position to put out anything?

    Just thinking!

This is an old article from Dec 2013 that was posted back then. I am only reposting now since I have been wondering how Puerto Rico is coming alone with their progress.

"Puerto Rico Mandates Energy Storage in Green Power Mix

Earlier this month, the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) and the island’s main utility, the Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica (NYSE:AEE), released a set of minimum technical requirements (MTRs) that govern new power projects. These MTRs apply to new solar or wind farm projects that are seeking to interconnect to the island territory’s grid, to which PREPA and AEE are hoping to add 600 megawatts of green power next year, to bring its share from about 1 percent today to 6 percent by the end of 2014."

I believe that Puerto Rico was part of TG's potential significant orders. He had mentioned government agencies taking much longer than anticipated and this project definitely fits that description. I know PR is also dealing with dept and bond issues. I sure wish I knew if this project was moving along! My wife and I own a house at the base of the rain forest in PR and I know about how expensive the electricity is there.
