Why is AGNC called a "best of breed'? I own it; I like the company. But if AGNC is a "best of breed", what should we call another company I own and like, NYMT?

  • What Did Tesla Tell Its Analysts And Largest Shareholders? [View article]
Tesla's "refueling infrastructure" (barely existent) adds over 1,000 miles to a drive from San Francisco to NY City. A hydrogen refueling infrastructure, built and supplied by the oil and gas industry, will be in place sooner than you can imagine and will create an enormous market for hydrogen powered cars. The hydrogen fuel cell is the future about to happen, which is why Musk calls a hydrogen storage facility "dumb."

  • What Did Tesla Tell Its Analysts And Largest Shareholders? [View article]
Toyota's announcement that it will shortly produce a car which uses hydrogen to create electricity and which will have an initial extended range (300 miles I believe) and which can be refueled in several minutes, brings us to the margin of the moderately priced hydrogen powered car, which will make electric cars such as Tesla's obsolete. Moreover, processes are already being developed to create hydrogen without the current use of fossil fuel, and until fossil-fuel-less hydrogen is produced in sufficient quantities, the low price of natural methane gas hydrogen production would still give hydrogen powered cars a great advantage.

Tesla's marketing division has been enormously successful and would be a valuable acquisition for a hydrogen powered car manufacturer.

  • MORL December Dividend Higher - Annualized Yield 23.1% [View article]
GGjr, I've never bought securities on margin, but your projected yield on MORL, bought on margin, is quite attractive. Would you mind telling me what current margin rates are, and perhaps suggest a firm or two with whom I should open a margin account? Thanks in advance.

  • An Income Portfolio: High Income And Capital Preservation [View article]
For what it's worth, the market trading sentiments of CEFs (at least MUNI CEFs) and REITS, are generally not correlated. Today' (Oct. 28th's) closing prices are an example. Again, in general, and excluding sudden rises in short term rates, REITS tend to trade like stocks even though REITS and (MUNI) CEFs have many of the same characteristics. I would not be afraid to invest an appropriate (for you) amount of lump sum pension money in best of breed REITS. One--and there are many-- of the positive investment signals I look for in REITS is the number and amount of institutional investment in a REIT, the higher the better.

    achilleus,
What do you think current shareholders should do? Sell? Buy? Hold? Your comment would be valuable to those, like me, who have had substantial investment growth with NCT, but now do not know what to do. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Am I alone in thinking that VTFI's calculations don't add up and don't support what he writes, or that what he writes is incoherent? There is also the possibility (probability?) that I have lost the ability to understand the written thought, or never had the ability, in the first place.
