  • Taking BlackBerry Private Makes No Sense [View article]
"Over the long term, Intel, Nokia, and Microsoft Windows synergies will shut BlackBerry out of the mobile market."

How long will it take Microsoft to figure things out in the mobile market? They've been in the gaming market for decades and still can't figure out how to sell the Xbox at a profit, while Nintendo puts out their next money printer.

Sooo, no company is using QNX Neutrino due to the licensing?
No company is interested in BES?

  • Why BlackBerry Urgently Needs A Buyer Or Partner [View article]
QNX was looking for a mobile phone platform to expand what they had. Harmon Karden knew it was limited with QNX, because competitors wouldn't use it for their infotainment systems. BlackBerry needed a new OS for their phones.

Everybody involved got what they wanted.

    Compatible to what?

    Switching to Android is pointless.

I see, lack of apps has been switch to lack of native apps. Which means that Android apps are just terrible and it is better to use the better functionality available on BB10 phones for an app then just to port them and use Android limited functionality.

  • BlackBerry Is Still Fighting With 1 Hand Tied Behind Its Back [View article]
"The Q5, BlackBerry's emerging markets solution, is sure sell in many of the markets that BlackBerry is mainstream."

And apparently, it will also come to the U.S., which was surprising.

The A10 will be the 5" device to compete with the fat phones. I'm guessing that they'll also have a keyboard version.

  • BlackBerry: Time To Throw In The Towel? [View article]
Maybe BlackBerry stock is one of those few stocks still stuck in reality, unlike the rest of the market.

Or, it could be all the bear/short articles.

  • What Is QNX And What Does It Mean For BlackBerry's Future? [View article]
You must be under the belief that "safety" and "connectivity" are the same thing.

But, I am not sure why the government should care if my car can connect to the internet or not. And I am definitely not sure why the Department of Transportation or the one that handles the current security on the internet couldn't handle this as well.

  • BlackBerry: Why The CEO Dismissing The Future Of Tablets Is Concerning [View article]
With QNX the phone doesn't have to be the complete cpu power. It could use a cpu in a "dumb" monitor to enhance the main cpu. In theory, you could have a cpu in your monitor/tablet/screen for basic graphic capabilities. Hook up a gpu cube that increases that capability. And then when you place your phone on the desktop, those 2 other cpu devices combine with the phone to make a more powerful device.

Wouldn't it be nice if you wanted to upgrade your graphics card and all you had to do was buy a new graphics cube and wirelessly connect it to your "desktop".

I would prefer BlackBerry leverage QNX and brand more hardware items so that people get the idea that the new BlackBerry is more than just phones.

Currently BES 10 running legacy devices requires a BES 5 server. After the BES 10.1 release, BES 10 will no longer require the BES 5 server.
