54 years old working in the software tech industry. Worked as a financial wealth manager for a large wire house 10 years ago - bad move on my part and went back to the tech industry. Investing for retirement. I am fully invested in a diversified portfolio of REIT's, BDC's, MLP's and Blue Chip DG selections - I reinvest ALL dividends right now - not enough room in my IRA to hold these excellent dividend payers, so I am loaded up on them in my taxable account as well and will grow that account through dividend reinvestment and some growth of capital. I pay the taxes as I go. I look for large div payouts to overcome the taxable nature of that portfolio. I also invest in very, very low cost index funds and ETF's (mainly Vangaurd) to diversify and to provide a check and balance of my portfolio management prowess.
