That's $56 short of the $500 quoted in this article.

Well said Jim. Obviously Arrington is so busy obsessing over nit picky details that he can't see the forest for the trees.

With this latest news the iPhone is about to blow up, making the iPod fenom look like a hobby.

Apple's iPhone 2.0 'Bigger than the Personal Computer'

Enough Wealth states "The Mac OS has been better than Windows for more than a decade, but it still can't get more than 10% of the desktop market. Why? Too expensive." Hey, need help getting unstuck from the 90's? When the latest Xserve was announced we did a feature for feature comparison with an HP server and the hP server was almost twice as much as the Apple Xserve.

As for consumers going for a similar cheaper alternative, there are none. There is only one palm sized full featured computer on the market today, and that is the iPhone.

With the latest news out of Cupertino, the iPhone is about to blow up, making the iPod fenom look like a hobby.

Apple Stores vs. Sony Style: Apple By a Furlong

In the Pentagon City Mall Sony put a Sony Style store right next to the Apple store. Every time I go to the Apple store it is always full and busy while the Sony Style store is nearly empty. Nuff said.

Wells Fargo (WFC) will become the largest U.S. bank by branches with its bid for Wachovia (WB), after Citigroup (C) withdrew from compromise negotiations late yesterday on concerns about the quality of some of Wachovia's assets. Wells Fargo, with a bid valued at $11.4B, expects the purchase to be completed by the end of the year, and denies it will have to absorb assets shakier than originally thought. Government considers next steps. As the financial crisis continues to worsen, the U.S. government is considering two dramatic steps to turn around, or at least slow, the damage: guaranteeing billions of dollars in bank debt and temporarily insuring all U.S. bank deposits. The moves, which would mark the government's most extensive intervention to date, are in discussion stages only. Credit stays frozen. As frozen credit markets refuse to thaw, the cost of default protection on corporate bonds reaches new global records amid investor concerns the credit crisis will trigger corporate failures as companies struggle to finance their businesses. Interbank lending remains limited, and borrowing from the Fed's expanded discount window continued its trend of setting new highs every week, as the total daily average rose to $420.2B vs. $367.8B last week. Computer Sciences (CSC) -- This is a company that was going to be bought, but they passed up the chance. Now I don't want to buy it."
