Technology Revolution To Shape EV Charging Landscape [View article]
"The first challenge is to speed up the charging process. There are currently three types of charging technologies; all are imperfect. Level 1 charging is widely available but takes about 20 hours to fully charge a car. While it's faster with Level 2-about eight hours-that still requires an overnight charge."
The time it takes to charge the car is not the problem. Your vehicle is parked 99% of the time. The charging times you listed is worst-case scenario, pulling into a parking lot at complete empty. Does anyone pull into a gas station with half a gallon of gas in the tank? (besides cash strapped teenagers?)
The issue is availability of chargers, which is being remedies as we speak as more and more companies and retailers install charging stations in an effort to accommodate/attract/re... employees, or attract shoppers to their stores (Target is installing ChargePoint chargers nationwide).
Once stations are more widely available, charging times won't matter, as drivers will just get used to plugging in every time they park their car (which takes about 30 seconds)....they'll just be constantly topping off at home, at work, and while they shop or see a movie. What they WONT ever have to do again, is drive around looking for the cheapest gas station in their area.

Never....
Your statement leads me to believe you don't really understand their business and products. LNKD is more than just an individual networking tool, they have a corporate product for business to use as a 'CRM' for their HR/Recruiting staff. That is where their revenue comes from.
As far as FB's 'professional section'...are you referring to Branched Out? I personally won't join it because my FB page is about my personal life, and I keep my professional life separate. I know most of my colleages feel the same way. My boss is a great guy, and we go out for beers and hang out outside the office frequently, but we're not connected on FB.
BTW, what is so compelling about this 'professional section' on FB that makes it so much better then LNKD? If there's something they have that LNKD is missing, maybe I should re-evaluate, but other than 'connecting' to my friends who already have jobs....well, I'm already connected to them as friends on FB, and professionally on LNKD....so what else is there?
Out of curiosity, where do you live? I'm in NorCal/Silicon Valley and EVERY professional I know is on LinkedIn and its considered a 'must have' when looking for a job around here. Hell, even all the teachers around here are on it.

I apologize for the LNKD/Groupon typo, but I stand behind my post....
1)Just curious, why are you waiting to short LNKD? When they hit $120 back may (when they did a 10 point jump in a day), that was the perfect time.
2) But more importantly, you still haven't answered the question you asked in your own title, "Where are these Social Media Stocks Heading?
I said I agree with you that this is all 'hype'. But I took the time to read your article based on the catchy title, and I just find it very annoying that you didn't spend even a minute to put together any kind of research on where things will be next year, EOY, or even next quarter.
And contrary to your belief, I have NO idea what you mean by 'losing trader attitude'...I gave you 3 solid examples of how I MADE money on these stocks, all to the tune of better than 30%.

way to pick and chose your data points based on 20/20 hind sight....you made a 30% profit on shorting LNKD? what about buying when it was at $60 and selling when it was recently at $120 for a 100% profit? If you were really smart, that's what you would have done....ZNGA IPO'd at $10....went down to $8 and then up to $15 for a +80% profit (what I actually did)....Bought YELP at $20.....went up to $30 for another 50% profit. Bought more ZNGA at $5.50.....it'll go up again (and down, and up and down).
You're right, its all hype and there's little rhyme or reason to anything any of these stocks are doing right now, but don't come on here and tell me you're some intelligent investor with some 'equation' because you made 30% on a not very random short sale.
BTW, your article does nothing to answer the question in the title of this article, "Where Are These Social Media Stocks Heading?" So where are they heading and why?
Even with all their issues, ZNGA is still a +$1B revenue company, so what's going to happen to them in the next 12-18 months?
LinkedIn May Find Itself LinkedOut Before Long [View article]
you're kidding, right?
ok, so start talking about 'Identified's' 'huge profits' and 'realistic valuation' then? How much revenue will they bring in for 2012?
oh wait...you can't? How about Facebook's 30% cut of any revenue Indentified brings in, eh? Nice business model to build a new 'platform' on.
70M new members? No...they're 70M Facebook members that wanted to see their 'score'....just like a game, that's it. Not a single recruiter has tried to contact me via Facebook (and I have a good score). I've had 3 emails from LinkedIn this week.
Aren't there a few other 'Facebook' apps that are also doing this?
You keep on shorting LNKD....good luck with that.
Disclosure: I don't own LNKD, nor am I a LNKD employee.
