  • Google's Next Move Should Be A Split [View article]
I saw the skit mocking them on SNL, I could foresee them being pretty dorky.
However, I could see huge potential for them with people with hearing issues and having them somehow do Close Captioning on them.

  • Danger Zone For This Week: Apple [View article]
    The author posts:
"If Google's 34% ROIC is the benchmark, the stock is worth only ~$191"
So, Apple makes more per share, has a lower P/E, and is priced lower than 1/2 of what Google's shares are going for.

Google has an EPS of ~$33 a share, yet is over $900 a share today. Is Google really worth less than ~$191 like you say for apple?

God, I'd love for and in depth forensic audit of all these hedge funds and people associated with them.

  • Julian Robertson's Tiger Management unloaded the 42K Apple (AAPL) shares the firm still had going into Q1. Tiger, which has owned Apple for years, had pared its stake from 101K in Q4. On the other hand, Tiger initiated positions in Dunkin' Brands (DNKN - 546K shares), Monsanto (MON - 192K), McGraw Hill (MHP - 408K), and H&R Block (HRB - 849K). AAPL -1.1%. Hold off on releasing new products, do the biggest stock repurchase ever while shares are at their cheapest................. then release major news AFTER the repurchase is complete.

    Pretty smart to me.

Does anyone think Apple may be waiting until after their buyback to release news on any of their new products?

  • Apple $395: Time To Give Up And Abandon Ship? [View article]
    Miguel,
I'll agree with you that AAPL if it was at $1000 would be priced high, but not a "bubble". What would the PE be, around 20ish?

Look at what the PE for AMZN, NFLX, LNG etc is, all well over 500+, except LNG because they haven't turned a profit yet.

  • Apple's Stock Is Not Manipulated, But Things Are Changing [View article]
I just had coffee come out my nose from laughing.

If you think there is no manipulation in the stock market, including AAPL, I have some pet rocks to sell you.

  • Apple's Rally Is The Child Of A Deluded Wall Street [View article]
"All AAPL lovers are in denial........AAPL is not going to 700, ever."
The stock was at 700 months ago.

"It is a 150 - 200 dollars stock and perhaps less. Fools and their money will soon be parted."
LOL. Keep buying that awesome Amazon and Netflix! Super cheap stocks, the PE ratios are only like around 5000!

Of course Wall Street is deluded, look at stocks like:
    NFLX
    AMZN
    LNG

and a bunch of others, PE ratios so high they make your nose bleed. I can't remember when LNG actually made money, but hey, they are supposed to turn a profit in 2015.

  • Mobile Device Wars Update: IDC Tablet Data For Q1 [View article]
Apple is "damned if they do, and damned if they don't" by analysts, writers, etc.

They keep saying Apple tablets are losing market share. Sure, but they are losing them the cheap tablets that are no where near as good as an ipad. But if Apple releases a cheaper ipad to appease this group of analysts and writers, then its bad because their margins go down.

  • 5 Short Interest Moves To Watch Closely [View article]
How many new subscribers have they added since they released the show then?
I highly doubt they'll ever answer that.

I'm sure the costs outweighed the gain in subscribers.

    Great post Bill,
    Re NFLX though:
What did House of Cards cost for them to produce/host/whatever vs how many new subscribers they got because of the show?

I may take a short position in NFLX.

  • Deckers Pullback Could Present Opportunity [View article]
Northface used to just target a specific demographic, they expanded and now target a far larger market.

Deckers needs to expand more into just being known for boots with the Uggs line. Instead of using money for the stock repurchase, they could have used it to develop their product lines into jackets, more boot and shoe styles, gloves, belts, wallets, etc............

Phemale - You should know I do like their products by now! ;-)

I still don't buy Angel's excuse for lower sales last year because of a "warm winter". Northface sales weren't affected, and they specialize in making gear to deal with the cold.

  • Netflix: Why 4 Billion Hours Is Not An Investment Thesis [View article]
"As for MTV and VH1, I rather like the thought that I am not directly financing those networks"
haha, I agree with ya on that!

But like I said, a better comparison would be Netflix vs. HBO.
    Netflix = 7.99 a month
    HBO = $17.99 a month

    Its a no brainer..................
