  • Gold At An Inflection Point [View article]
if things are a "mess" and you don't like equities at this point just go to cash and wait it out. I took some profits a while back, that's the point after all, and am just on the sidelines. like going to the horse track just watching without betting is hard to do. but if you don't see a clear winner in the race don't bet. the markets will present a good opportunity at some point. maybe a month or two.

  • Clear And Present Danger To The World Economy [View article]
Russia has the energy that Europe has to have. game over. how is the west going to "fix" anything. US actions led directly to the current problem. the people in the area are going to have to sort it out themselves.

  • The Price Is Wrong [View article]
when I was growing up and then when I entered the work force inflation was a accepted as a bad thing. because it is. the govt, bankers, economists, financial press, have been pushing the inflation agenda in the last few years only because there is way to much debt at every level. want about the savers, too bad for them? sound money has been shown to be the best thing for society for centuries.

  • Will Silver Break Free From The $20 Price Range? [View article]
silver is not acting positive now and so I look for a trend down towards $18 or so. not missing out on any action now by waiting.

  • Is The U.S. Dollar Top The Bottom For Gold? [View article]
silver just doesn't seem to be getting any legs going. gold looks like it's creeping along with an upward bias while silver struggles with $20. feels like another downturn may be ahead for both.

  • S&P 500 Is Below Fair Value With A Strong Support Level Of 1668 [View article]
so what has happened since '09 (an extreme bottom) going forward is just going to keep happening? that's no model, that's just extending a line. what markets do that? remember when houses go up because they always have was the story.

  • Silver: Triple Bottom Or Lower Lows? [View article]
the market doesn't care what mining costs are. the traders don't know if it's $5/oz or $20 because it's both depending on the source, primary or by-product. they trade based on other factors. gold seems to be doing OK, not great but OK. silver can't gain any traction so I think gold will fade down or silver will trend up. like the author I think maybe the best thing now is to sit it out and see what develops.

  • Economy Knocking At Recession's Door [View article]
the (un) Affordable Health Care act is enough to cause a recession on it's own. as Mr Early states main street in the end has to be able to support the business sector with spending and they aren't getting anywhere. business can only do so many share buybacks to make earnings look good. there was a lot of that in '13 but that's not real gains based on the top line. the easy extra money is just looking for a use and it's going into equities but that money is tapering off. 6 year car loans? that's because main street doesn't have enough disposable income. and it's nor growing enough to support real growth.

  • Gold Contrary Indicators [View article]
well you may be right about Putin that's not enough of an issue to sustain the gold market. good for another temporary blip maybe but a change in sentiment on the macro factors is needed to put some snort back in the bull.

  • China Supply Demand Dynamics May Drive Gold Lower [View article]
I think it needs to clear $1340-50 to gain more interest from the markets. just have to wait. trout season just opened where I am, off to the stream for me.

  • Putin And Yellen Support The SPDR Gold Trust Outlook [View article]
the Russia/Crimea thing was worth about $75 for 10 days or so. gold is still trending down at most any chart you want to look at. if you have physical might as well hold at this point. if you want to trade I would watch and wait. miners are adjusting operations to the not so new lower price range. at some point they will be a good buy but maybe not quite yet.

  • When Oh When Is The Fed Likely To Begin 'Normalizing' Interest Rates? [View article]
I've been around a while and for decades the economy grew, with blips, just fine with interest rates in the 5-6-7% range. now 2-3% scares people and markets. I think Fed policy has been the problem. why do people expect them to be able to fix problems they create.

  • It Could Be A Nasty Spring For Precious Metals [View article]
that seems to be what's going to happen. it's no fun watching your holdings going down but that's the current market. I'm building cash for two outcomes. deflation sets in, or to be ready to add metal when it looks near a bottom. maybe $1050-1150. just have to see how it plays.
