  • Why Apple Is The Perfect Stock For Anyone [View article]
Like Leo Trader I have hung on from $395 long. And like Wizjinx, I would not suggest to anyone else to buy here. My compromise was to sell a covered call, I got $32 a share for the October 600 as Apple crossed over 600. This way, I received the recent dividend, and will get one more at least. I for certain brought in that nice ATM call money, mine no matter what. Yes, I might kick myself if Apple is much over $600 in October, and will try and enjoy my profit as they take my stock away. Or who knows?

Apple covered calls pay SO much, I wonder why no one subscribes to this strategy?

  • How Will Apple's Stock Split Impact Its Shareholders? [View article]
to John C 77, same here. I was just looking hungrily at the Jan 15 600 calls paying $26 per share X 1000 would be a nice car down payment. And if I got called away at 600, more profit. But like you I multiplied my 1000 shares X 7 X 100 and got a huge number. My answer for now is to wait some more. I've waited years already, what is another few months?

  • Apple: The Case Against A Dividend Increase [View article]
why not sell calls? If you own those 200 shares, you can sell 2 contracts worth of calls. So you make money instead of throw it away.

  • Apple: Dividend Increase Coming Soon [View article]
For those of us with an OptionsXpress Portfolio Margin account, We can hold 1000 shares long of Apple using a mere 18% actual account cash. Right now, it tells me I am using $96,800 to hold 1000 shares. When I get my $3000, hopefully more! dividend, my real return rate is 3000/96800 3% per quarter.

  • Apple's Stock As A Safe Haven And A Possible 2 Bagger Over Next 2 Years [View article]
He obviously means a $50 dividend, no matter how high the stock goes.

  • This Could Be Why Apple Shares Are Down [View article]
Dear KIS, the trouble is that AAPL is mostly owned by non-rational fund managers. Also, I wish I understood more of the arcane methods that indexes use to re-balance. These 2 are large forces driving AAPL in non-rational patterns. You know that fund managers trade huge blocks on a whim. As a fellow EE turned trader, what do you think of selling options, and consider your profit as collected time premium?

  • Apple - Fire Sale Ends December 31? [View article]
Great idea, but I would consider Feb options, as I agree with previous commenter's about earnings happening after Jan options.

    All Feb 2013:
    Sell 480 put + $16
    Buy 400 put - $3
    Buy 550 call - $16
    Sell 600 call + $5

Net about $2, risk only $80, and make up to $52 on that $80, and have an extra month for Apple to scream back.
