  • Here's Why Apple's Huge Cash Pile Is Now One Of Its Biggest Problems [View article]
Enormous Cash a Problem. What a joke ?!
This gives Apple so much flexibility and they will
never, ever have to go to the narrow minded money
Men. Steve hated them and he was correct and Apple
is doing the correct thing. First and most importantly Huge R&D , followed by strategic acquisitions, then Global expansion of retail Stores, followed by Share Buy Back and reasonable dividend to investors.
Apple could do non of this with out the strategic cash pile which
as an investor I want Apple to continue to top up. This will give Apple
    Huge advantage in future years.
Well don Steve Jobs and now the excellent Tim Cook.

  • Tim Cook's Touch Reduces China Risk For Apple [View article]
    RE Michael_Michael

History is so useful. Tim Cook was
chosen for his talents by Steve Jobs.
I remember well how Wall Street and its
Media lackes told us all, for some considerable
time how hopeless Tim Cook would be and how
    Apple would be doomed.
    Wrong yet again !!
I never doubted Tim's ability. He was endorsed
by Steve for his talents and had a clearly documented
track record with a sense of humility and humanity.
Tim has an ethical vision for Apple
and is devoted to carrying on Steve's vision but
in his own unique way - which is what Steve wanted

  • Apple Watch: What Did Apple Just Roll Out Here? [View article]
I ordered the Stainless steel version and can not wait for play time.
My son has his Sports version already and has been showing me some cool
Apps - essential one for me is : locate my iPhone 6, lol.
This Apple products is so well designed. Well done to Jonathan Ive and the his Apple Team for bringing off such an elegant and functional piece of Bio engineering. No moving parts but the thought to detail of the Hardware and Software contained with in is a marvel and is equal to any master Swiss engineering but with enormous added functionality.
Apple's New Device category will go from strength to strength over the years and it is years ahead of the competition in design elegance and functionality, with an ever increasing App Store devoted to it. It will become a must have, world wide by those that love and appreciate truly elegant innovation.

  • Why Apple's Dividend Increase Is A Disappointment [View article]
    RE johnnymg

    "This is how WS works!"

NO. This is how The Wall Street Casino
works on Apple and not Google or Facebook, etc
that make a small fraction of Apple's profit.

Just buy and hold as we true investors do.

The premise of the article is wrong.

I am a long term UK investor and am more than happy
with the new dividend. Adding a few fractions of a dollar
will only attract a few more stock/share buyers.
Great design and technology that Apple is producing
and planning is what attracts true long term investors.
I have made nearly half a million dollars through investing
in Apple long term and I certainly will not sell one of my shares as Apple's
future will ultimately be very rosey due to the brilliant technology Apple has
Producing and has planned. Apple and it's brilliant team under Steve Jobs and now the excellent
Tim Cook know better than this GREEDY writer of the article.

  • Apple gets target hikes, Icahn praise after FQ2 beat [View news story]
    RE LowBetaPortfolio

"Just own it, fellas. Why trade this stock? Have been in since its 3-yr beta was at 0.7... Hard to get rid of now given all the potential catalysts."

    Yes, I agree.
Have held shares in this brilliant Design and Tech
company since the iPad1 at $200 pre split.
Have used only Apple computers since 1986 in Design
    Music and Education.
Love the OS, interconnectivity and synergy. No other
System compares with Apple. With new Apple TV coming
and other interesting products, Apple is just on the
starting grid in pole position. So much more to come from Apple
over the next years. The so called 'Analysts' and Pundits like Blaire
and his cabal will never understand Apple or 'Get it!'. Just ignore
    their ego driven constructs.
Have just ordered my stainless steel Apple watch and cannot
wait for it to arrive to have fun !
All my family use Apple equipment as it is clearly the BEST AND
    COST EFFECTIVE.

This is the beginning of a huge apple biotech wearable devise/s.
So many TRULY DUMB comments yet again on yet another new cutting edge
piece of delightful Apple design a technological.

Most of what I read is pure envy and/or ignorance - no other design and tech company can in anyway match Apple's strategic thinking.
Soon we will have Apple payments via Apple Watch in the UK , China and elsewhere - marvellous and secure.

Most refuse to get it yet again. This is going to be the beginning of something Huge and World Wide. AND, it is only a matter of time ( with $200 billion in the bank) be fore the issue of of blood Glucose levels are cracked and other important medical outcomes are achieved. A brilliant start from Apple and light years ahead of the competition yet again.
Oh, it tells very accurate time too !!

  • Cook to donate all his wealth to charity [View news story]
    RE Lohengrin

With respect, I do not see helping the poor is anything to do with superstition?

I hope that Tim sets up some educational organisation in order that the poor
and disadvantaged can learn to help themselves through educational advancement. I know that Apple is already assisting in this area.

This used to be a method the Socialist Movement employed in the UK in the 20th Century through the self organised Workers' Education Organisation and Workers' Libraries.
With the massive strides in technological advancement, great opportunities are now available with open source learning from Colleges and Universties employing iPads and Apple Computers and financial support for groups and individuals.

There are many in the West that dislike Taxation however if you want an example to a fair, just, evenly balanced and equitable society, look at Denmark who tax quite heavily yet most citizens are content and there is little crime?
OK, it might not be perfect and we all need a little bit of 'edge' to drive us but What do you want from your society - freedom to shoot one another ?!

    RE Grumpyoldcoot

I suggest you read Solzhenitsyn's "August 1914" to understand why the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia was inevitable - due to incompetence, ignorance and greed of the Aristocracy. All sections of society could see the injustice of the regime. What happened afterwards was equally appalling in many ways and a betrayal of the aims of a more just society for all.

The fact that Tim Cook is going to give millions away will create good
    Karma.

All these material things: expensive cars, big houses, yachts , etc, etc may be fun for a while but will not bring joy and contentment in this life.
A worth while mission will help.
As John Lennon rightly said "Love is what you need" AND althought I truly do not want to upset people, you do not need Religion or a God to love and be loved.

Really you should not knock the dead who can not answer back.
    It's a cheap shot.
In reality, you do not know who received funds from Steve.
Clearly his wife and loved one did and I believe that they have given large funds to charitable trusts.
Also Apple, Steve's baby gives huge sums to deserving causes

    RE bala002

I agree with some of your points. But why bring the bit about 'self- righteous arm- chair whining and complaining self - styled commies' into it !
There is some thing called Ethical Capitalism (although some would see this as a contradiction in terms) and in my view Apple is an example of this with a brilliant and compassionate head of company, Tim Cook. Steve knew what he was doing and chose the correct person to lead Apple in this Century.
Do not forget that Steve disliked Bankers, Wall Street and many aspects of the Capitalist system. Steve studied Eastern Philosophies which puts little importance on the accummilation of personal wealth for its own sake.
The clever thing is, Apple has out done the Capitalists at their own game,by becoming the most successful creative technology company in the World
So many contradictions! Clearly, it has to operate under Capitalist rules otherwise it could not exist.
I think this is why some on the Capitalist 'Right' do not 'Get' Apple and actually see it as some kind of threat to their 'Wolves of Wall Street' attitude which they sadly admire and aspire to. Apple, I believe has higher aspirations and this is why I have always admired this company and been a long term investor - to be a part of a more progressive Capitalism - with all its contradictions.
