  • The Apple Bubble Is Ready To Burst  [View article]
Why would he short it when he can make more money writing factual articles like these?

An MBA and an analyst? No wonder the financial world is currently in a mess! How SA even allowed this baseless article to get published is beyond me!

Guess it is all about page views! Look at the commentaries!

  • Transocean's Value Proposition: Leading Driller Stays Afloat By Going Deepwater  [View article]
Attractive fundamental valuation aside, we may not see any meaningful move till Feb 2012...I'm hesitant buying this on a downtrend.

  • A day after reporting Apple (AAPL) will release a TV set in Q2 or Q3, a different set of sources tell Digitimes Apple will "finalize hardware standards" for its sets by the end of Q2, and may enlist chip foundry TSM and chip testing/packaging firms ASX and SPIL in its efforts. However, in a sign of how Digitimes' sources can have conflicting information, the ones behind today's report suggest the TV sets will be released near the end of 2012.   [View news story]
    Yawn...another rumor.

  • China's fund managers are bracing for a wave of bad loans to hit the market over the next few years, as lenders dispose of existing bad loans to make way for a new batch of non-performing debt. While nobody can accurately calculate the potential supply, Chinese regulators in March put the figure near $500B, while Fitch warns the actual figure could exceed $2T.   [View news story]
Another shoe to fall? Given the way the Chinese are...don't think we will see any transparency in reporting. Crap will be swept under the Chinese rug.

Yes Hybris was right. I guess i am not part of the 1000 people who were presumed to have wasted 15 minutes of my time reading this because i certainly took the time to post a few more thoughts that were helpful.

What is the diff between Kindle Fire and Playbook in terms of marketing?

What is BB's user base? 75M or so? That is 75M emails that they have access to. How many playbooks sold YTD?

It isn't all about marketing; just like TUT alluded to, the product needs to work to be given a chance.

    Excellent comments Hybris.

IF the CEOs did really understand this early on (as some commentary here suggests); RIMM wouldn't be slammed like this.

I guess, like most arrogant managers, they think they knew it all and were quick to dismiss facts when faced with it.

  • Short Sellers As Short-Sighted As Amazon's Competition  [View article]
If one looks at AMZNs' PE since it started trading, it always has been at nose bleed levels that seemed to defy the actual financial results.

AMZN has always been perceived to be the "future" of retailing.

"lofty PE" yup....another NFLX or RIMM...it is not (yet).
