this is good news despite some initial misgivings. credit card companies, in general, deserve to go out of business. they are nothing but registered loan sharks. as hard as it may seem to do, people should wean themselves from credit cards and into debit cards,

if you need impetus, just add up how much you spent on interest and other charges during the year and think what you could do with that extra money.

credit card companies compete? what a joke. next try writing some fluff about attila the hun. in concert, they all raised their rates while borrowing money from the government for next to zero.

as far as transparency is concerned, i'm certain that mr angry banker can read the journal of medicine and start performing brain surgery.

as far as the credit card companies shrinking, only people strung out on debt for survival should be paying usurious interest rates. like smoking cigarettes, the public should be weaned off credit cards. it's painful for a while but healthy in the long run.

the poster child for financial chicanery is madoff but he has lots of company. the thain's et al should be facing criminal charges. just like the investors with madoff will face paying back their previous gains. the hierarchy of the banks should have their assets stripped and taken away. they are as ill gotten, as madoffs', without the same public criminal exposure, at least until now.
