  • Lumber Liquidators up 17.4% after Tilson covers short  [View news story]
No way in hell this should be legal. Tilson caused investors to act on what really turned out to be false information (that LL executives were KNOWINGLY selling toxic flooring), then dropped a "nevermind" on us and cashed out. I hope the SEC is looking into this -- at the very least, LL should be considering a massive lawsuit. How about a class action lawsuit from the investors who got fleeced here?

  • WP Glimcher's Honeymoon Turned Into A Bad Dream  [View article]
Sears & JC Penney do lease over 20% of the total portfolio square footage, but only contribute about 2.5% of the company's total base rent. The real risk here is the company's ability to negotiate co-tenancy clauses out from its leases with in-line tenants and to develop strong relationships with replacement anchor tenants, should the need arise.

  • Why, At 29, I'm Sticking With Dividends  [View article]

Take a look at NYB. I bought in at $12.90 when it was yielding 7.75%. It's come up a bit since then (currently at $13.78 as I type this), but its still yielding 7.25% and just crossed over its 200 day moving average ($13.11), which should become its new support.

It feels like the financial sector is gaining some serious momentum, and NYB is in the relatively safe business of lending on New York City apartments. Keep up the good work, I love your articles!
