  • Making Money With Vale S.A.: Here's The Opportunity It Offers [View article]
Very helpful article, thank you. As a self-directed long-term investor, I'm not comfortable with options, but this information is still helpful in that it adds to my belief that VALE is an excellent long-term holding and 2012 will likely present more opportunities to continue averaging into the full position I plan to have.

  • 3 High Growth Micro Cap Stocks With 50-100% Upside In 2012 - But Be Cautious [View article]
ZSTN is supposed to report this week, although a specific date is not given. That is according to the Earnings.com calendar, which I've found to be among the more accurate/reliable earnings date sources (Yahoo Finance is the least accurate). If I find more info about ZSTN earnings, I will post a link here asap... it would be very helpful if anyone else with an interest in ZSTN would so the same. I for one am getting very concerned since, although the company's story is compelling, the stock started diving in mid February and hasn't stopped since.

  • Global Macro Notes: China, Brazil And Spain Flip The Script [View article]
Very good article, thank you. Indeed, "trees don’t grow to the sky"... just ask Mitt Romney... apparently there is an optimal height for trees... let's hope Romney's theory doesn't apply to the markets. lol

  • Arch Coal Attractive At Current Prices [View article]
I agree that the bottom is near for both coal and ACI. If ACI does go below $11, I'll consider it an opportunity to average into more shares. I simply can't comprehend the needs being met for the very many nations that are growing at a far faster clip than the US without coal and ACI is one of my favorite coal companies.

  • Arch Coal Attractive At Current Prices [View article]
Very good article, thank you. I too have been wanting to add to my ACI holdings and have been waiting for my $12 buy target for quite a while. Depending on what happens in the coming days, I'll probably buy at any point below $12 since that represents a new 52-week low, which should provide some support in that range... key word "should". I find it odd (though not uncommon) that Zacks has a "sell" rating on ACI now that its near the 52-week low. That undoubtedly has to do with the challenges mentioned above, but is also counter to the basic investing premise of "buy low, sell high"... unless of course, they're forecasting new lows that are much lower than current lows. That just seems unlikely being that the world is and will continue to be extremely dependent upon coal despite the issues.

Thank you. This controversy makes one thing crystal clear - KERX & AEZS are both stocks to stay far a way from for the time being.

  • Forget May; March Is A Good Time To Sell And Go Away [View article]
Another great article. I totally agree that a significant correction is long overdue and gravity will have its way soon. That's one of the reasons I'm only buying particularly cheap and/or speculative stocks right now and slowing the pace of my buying.

I agree... I'm just to willing to buy anymore... especially so soon after the prodigy has passed. I see it as sort of like going to see the Rolling Stones in concert today instead of 30 years ago. lol

  • $3 Dollar Shale Play Destined To Go Higher [View article]
Another good tip, thanks. I'll definitely be looking into VOG as a possible buy. My other small/micro O&Gs are: KOG, GTE, AXAS, SSN (listed in ascending order of what I consider speculative).

For what my two pence is worth as a self-directed investor, of the half dozen or so purely speculative biotechs I own, I'm most confident in AIS and think the returns from AIS will come the soonest.
