I don't believe many investors slavishly follow Cramer's recommendations, though the :Cramer Factor" surely does exist. I find it very useful to have his take on stocks as a basis for due diligence. He deserves much credit for promoting financial literacy, something the educational system slights. He is very knowledgeable and well abreast at how individual stocks are doing - his lightening round proves that to me. I subscribe to many newsletters and mostly I feel analysts are self-promoting and self-serving.
Why You Don't Want Berkshire to Pay Dividends [View article]
I opt for dividends. The idea that if dividends are wanted one should sell BRK is hogwash. How well did the stock do last year? If I sold I would lose thousands of dollars. He ought to reward the people who have supported him for all these years. What would he have done without us? It would be the only decent thing to do, besides supporting Gate's good works in Africa.

Why isn't it enough to say the LNG comes from our own country, while oil comes from elsewhere? This is not an isolationist argument. We all seem to agree that our dependence on foreign oil is unhealthy. WE have another alternative. USE IT!
Cramer: Jon Stewart Interview Was a 'Complete and Utter Ambush' [View article]
Cramer has interested more people, especially young people, in the stock market than anyone else. He educates, and he insists on investors doing their own homework. He's written some good books. He's a little too frenetic for a steady diet for someone my age, but I don't see the purpose of all the potshots aimed at him. Just envious of his success, I guess.
Berkshire Hathaway: Proof That the CDS Market Is Irrational [View article]
Folksy is right. I have seen WB quoted so much, the adulation is palpable. Puts and CDS. Whatever is he thinking? I think his empire is in shambles. It will surely take some acumen for him to recover. The shares I hold in B are actually junk. I don't expect them to ever be worth much again. Seems like in his dotage he just got tired of just plain old investing wisely and so he decided to take a flyer and live on the edge and dangerously. I could have recommended sky diving or bunge jumping. Anything but these ill-advised forays into exotic strategies. Get hold of yourself, Warren!
Explaining the Berkshire Share Price [View article]
I think he is just reckless. It's my own fault. I trusted the overwhelming sentiment that one could not go wrong with BRK/B. I'm down 50%. How can that ever be overcome? I just have to hope. Too late to bail out.
Buffett, Grantham and China: What the Savers Are Buying [View article]
BRK/B is the worst stock I have ever owned. More so because I thought it was so safe. Additionally, it pays no dividends, even though Buffett always makes certain the stocks he buys pays him a dividend. I won't live long enough for this stock to recover. And neither will he.
A measure of his popularity, the number of persons who are determined to take him down. So, don't watch him! It;s a free country. Too much self-righteousness and pedantry from really stiff-spined people. Concentrate on something else' Get a life!
