More good news for LEI. After recent sell off time to get in?
HOUSTON, April 17, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lucas Energy, Inc. (NYSE Amex:LEI) an independent oil and gas company (the "Company" or "Lucas"), today announced that for the month of March 2012 the Company had average gross production, from operated wells, of 535 BOPD (barrels of oil per day). Gross production for the month of March 2012 was the highest for the fiscal year 2012. The 4th quarter 2012 (January through March 2012) gross operated production averaged 430 BOPD. The last two quarters of 2012, gross operated production averaged 328 BOPD. These numbers do not include oil and gas production from the two Eagle Ford wells operated by an affiliate of Marathon Oil Company.

The goals set by the Company were to reach 500 BOPD of gross operated production, and to average 300 BOPD for the last two quarters of fiscal year 2012. Lucas has accomplished both. The Company anticipates continued growth in gross operated production in the 2013 fiscal year with the drilling of new Austin Chalk horizontal wells and the drilling of new Austin Chalk laterals from old well bores with the financing through joint ventures. Further details of joint venture financing will be presented in later news releases.

The increase in gross operated production has been due to new drilling in the 3rd and 4th quarters of fiscal year 2012. Lucas has drilled two new Austin Chalk horizontal wells, and three new laterals from existing Austin Chalk wells during the past 6 months. Recently, the Hagen Ranch Unit No.1HST well (a new lateral from an existing Austin Chalk well) was completed and put on pump. During the month of March 2012, the well produced 5,200 bbls of oil from the Austin Chalk formation. Interesting Article. I would not use this to value these stocks. Or I would use it differently. If the company is trading above the price target I would invest in those KOG and TPLM. The reason they are trading higher is because of the growth that is expected. Both KOG and TPLM are going to have huge growth in 2012. With oil prices rising and rumors of buyouts these stocks will continue to drive higher. I would take advantage of the dip in these two stocks and start or add to a long position.

VMW is the leader in the cloud. With the floods there was a shortage of hard drives. One of the benefits of VMW is the ability to utilize hardware companies already have and make "virtual servers". With the price and shortage of Hard Drives it would have been an option for IT administrators to use VMW instead of buying new servers. They could also take older servers that already have hard drives update the processors and ram to be able to use VMW. For companies that use EMC and NTAP this is a no brainer. VMW came down with ORCL, but in my opinion they are two very different companies.

Thanks for another great article. I know your articles focus on Bakken, but you seem to have a good handle on the eagle ford. I would be interested to see an article focused Eagle Ford or other shales that would be as good as the Bakken. I think it would help me differentiate the two.

If you still have a hunger for risk and it's aimed at energy, look beyond even cheap-looking Big Oil shares to smaller firms in oil shale (like SM, OAS and COG, or ETFs like PSCE or IOIL) - pricier, but maybe better positioned in newer technologies like horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, and which may be takeover targets for the big boys.

With a shortage of hard drives you could use VMW to make virtual servers on your existing equipment. They are not a CRM, but are coming down with the CRM stocks.
