I am a retired physician.I began my practice when there was no FDA.In my opinion it is unfortunate when government becomes involved because politics reigns supreme.Academicians have a role-teaching.The old expression "those who can do.Those who can't teach."Members of committees making judgements should have practice related experience because many on these cmommittes are too far removed from the actual practice of medicine.
