  • EDAP: The 'Holy Grail' In The Fight Against Prostate Cancer [View article]
"This compares very favorably to the 15 year relative survival rate, without the often painful and debilitating side effects of treatments like radiation or invasive surgery." Are you aware of HIFU side effects? There potentially much more debilitating than either IM/GRT (focused radiation) or radical surgery in experienced hands. Compare the erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and irritative voiding symptoms of HIFU to these standards of care before jumping into this eventual marketplace loser. Euphoria will not be lasting, as it has no chance of replacing radiotherapy or robot-assisted surgery in which both physicians and hospitals have invested millions in equipment and training costs.

  • Prepare Now For The Looming Fiscal Cliff [View article]
bj, do you realize you're an idiot? Your president is an Islamo-centric Socialist who has spent 1/3 of every dollar of our country's historic national debt in under 4 years, never with a budget. Just who's radical in this race?

  • The Obama administration releases its final fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks, requiring each automaker's fleet to reach an average 54.5 miles/gallon by 2025, nearly doubling current levels. To meet the standard, automakers will need to introduce new technologies and sell more alternative fuel vehicles. Critics say the rules will add thousands to new car prices[View news story]
And we need "cleaner air" b/c your Lefty buddies invested in the pathetic and incapable alternative say so? Pull your head out of your ass. If you want to make yourself a vulnerable projectile in one of those tin cans, go for it. It's natural selection, IMO.

Here's a headline, Tack: More Americans are out of work now than 3 years ago - first president to leave with less than he inherited. Pathetic. Socialism has failed again. A little verbose, but you get my gist.

  • Is this week's big spike in natural gas a sign of a price floor? Is it time to buy? Fund manager Dan Rice likes Range Resources (RRC), whose exposure to rich Appalachian fields that produce gas at low cost should help it survive any further period of depressed prices. Weeden's 45-year vet Charles Maxwell favors Encana (ECA). Morgan Stanley likes: OKE, SUN, TRGP, WMB, SE, XTXI.  [View news story]
I'm playing it with LNG. Nice div and less overhead.

  • It's no surprise flows into short leveraged ETFs can be contrary indicators, but TrimTabs attempts to put numbers behind the idea. The worst returns for the stock market tend to come after 7 weeks of money flowing out of the bearish ETFs. The opposite thought - money flowing into bearish ETFs being a signal for a bull move - shows no such correlation.  [View news story]
Some clarification from anyone who understands this thing would be greatly appreciated; why is TVIX getting clobbered when VXX is beginning to surge? Thought they were X and 2X of the same index. Can short-term futures be that disparate?

  • Portugal's core government deficit almost triples to €799M in the year's first two months from a year earlier. Higher tax rates were offset by a sharp contraction in the economy, leading to a 4.3% fall in government revenues. At the same time, government spending (in the midst of an austerity program) was actually higher than a year ago.  [View news story]
Surprise, higher taxes leading to slower economy and lower revenue. Economics 101.

Inflated jobs reports, omitted labor force decline numbers, subordinated downward revision data keep the hopeful at ease. We're dying out here and being told otherwise.

Or tired of not having a full time job and realize it's time to clean up. Wait till they start paying taxes; trips to the dentist will again be the last thing on their minds.
