Google's Chrome Sounds Like 1970s Pressure Cooker
"it assumes Microsoft stands still for the 10-15 years it would take to make it happen." = Someone finally wrote the obvious flaw in the arguments regarding 'getting' Microsoft

The End Run Around the Operating System Is Under Way
Wall Street is looking for the next money making machine. In this process, Wall Street will buy into many stories that claims to point out the next money machine. This is where the audience comes from for articles like "OS is dead"

The End Run Around the Operating System Is Under Way
"the operating system...will become an application that just happens to boot first. " - is that not that what it is now?
"The OS will...be plumbing." = that isn't important?
"Toss in virtualization" = isn't MSFT doing that?
the OS glory days are gone...perhaps in a decade = what software product lasted more than 10 years.
Your article says the changes you predict will take 10 years to play out, in other words technology will change in the next 10 years, not much of a headline grabber.

      Is Microsoft Out of Ideas?
Cleary if MSFT has 20,000,000,000 in cash that is the proof they have no ideas. That is clear as 20,000,000,000 doesn't just come from ideas it comes from trees.

You would have tried to sell the same idea if MSFT had successfully bought Yahoo.

      Is Microsoft Out of Ideas?
i do not see any connection between a stock buy back and no ideas? If MSFT announced a goal to spend the same dollars on R&D, you would write this is proof MSFT is desperate and fruitlessly spending even more on R&D to no avail because all those R&D shenanigans having never produced anything but a 90% market share.

Open Source Community Rants Six Years Late About Microsoft Filing
You encapsulated well the passion of the open source community to 'catch' Microsoft. This 'catch' Microsoft is usually done when issues are taken out of context which you also pointed out. Well done and well written.

      Ballmer on Newspapers: Wrong Again
If i enjoy reading a 'magazine' online, I will order an old fashioned subscription so I can also enjoy reading it offline. I cannot read a PC screen leaning back in my recliner as easy as I can a magazine.
Print vs Screen is not as valid as PC vs Typewriter

The humor is actually in the translations. Everything Microsoft said was a fact. i recommend Mr. Dignan proceed with aggressive caution next time he offers his humorous translations.

"It's not nuts--it's extreme brinksmanship." All your examples are from movies; your credibility is lost. You forgot "Barbarians at the Gate" That was all about takeovers; it even had a future Presidential candidate in the movie. He failed in the movie also.
