Microsoft's Windows Is a Glacier That Won't Melt Fast
"Apple shareholders are poised for immediate growth" - sorry charlie, this optimism is already priced into the stock. good try though; a beginner might have bought it.

another well rounded article. I'm use to reading a bias that takes away from the author's message, i didn't read one here. Thank You.

Is Microsoft Drinking Google's Maps Milkshake?
i'm stunned; this is a positive article about MSFT. Most articles are a collection of negative adjective and adverbs regarding MSFT that ironically usually end by describing MSFT's very strong market position. This article was positive throughout.

Google Gearing Up for Microhoo Scrum?
"Google (GOOG) has hired Frank Quattrone" maybe that's where it will begin and end; YHOO hired him because they foresaw the news that would be read in that act. You fell for it.

Why the Yahoo Deal Must Happen
"the browser is increasingly the only operating system that matters anyway" = you're describing a single user who simply surfs the web.
If that's what makes up the world, than we agree.
If it were that simple, MSFT would have no ago solved the problem.

Ballmer to Yahoo: Feudalism Is Dead
No one has made a higher bid, and MSFT should raise its bid? This makes no sense. Luckily, YHOO rigidity will be broken by stockholder involvement, and MSFT will get the company.
Regarding MSFT's floundering, companies have come and gone, and MSFT is still here; they must be doing many things right and it is reflected in MSFT's balance sheet.

Microsoft Succeeds in Making Vista Even Worse
"Companies need to understand what politician's have known for years. Give people what they need, not what they complain about - people will whine about MS no matter what they do."

Interesting point. I heard a similar point from a MSFT employee who said he pays little attention to headlines because they swing all over the place and can change on a dime. Regardless, an interesting point. The subtext is what are they actually saying when they complain.

Why I'm Betting on Google Over Microsoft
"but it's no ordinary pony, it's a unicorn" = it's different this time
That's a bubble because it is never true

"Google hired mostly the engineering talent of Microsoft" - This is not consistent with MSFT being weak.

"threatening the software giant's very relevance" = all the buzz words to create a visible earnings picture for MSFT's opponents.

These article that say: "I must be smart, I'm insulting MSFT are getting boring"

Google’s App War with Microsoft Ramping Up
"Is Google’s App War with Microsoft Ramping Up?"
You've got Google fighting WWII against MSFT with GOOG thinking it has an advantage because GOOG has read the history books. Meanwhile MSFT is preparing for WW III and beyond because WWII is over and MSFT won.

Can We Take Microsoft at Its Open Source Word?
To Quote: "underscores deep internal conflicts, in Redmond...It is odd that the road to openness demands the takeover of a foe..it reflects a bi-polar method to software development."

1.) The underlying author's assumption here is socialism works.
2.) I'm not clear why buying Yahoo contradicts the value of supporting open source developers? I see a clear parallel. Open Source people will work with MSFT's products as a way of getting in doors that were previously closed. I think you jumped the gun with your thesis that you see clear contradictions in MSFT strategy; I don't see any contradictions but for the ones you unsuccessfully tried to sell to your readers. If you want to insult MSFT while appearing objective, you'll have to try again.

it can't be a smoke screen because too much credibility would be lost if it turns out to be little more than a smoke screen. It probably is exactly what MSFT claims it to be and not what people wished it to be.
