  • Is It Time for Microsoft's Ballmer to Make Way for Ozzie? [View article]
The desktop software model is dying thanks to Google (GOOG).

    ...Do you really believe this?

Google is a reflection of change not the root cause of that change.

  • Is It Time for Microsoft's Ballmer to Make Way for Ozzie? [View article]
Ozzie is at Microsoft because Steve Ballmer wholeheartedly agrees with Ozzie’s goals. Your article offered no evidence to contradict that. Your headline will attract readers, so congratulations on that one fact otherwise the article is based upon an unsupported assumption that Ozzie and Ballmer are not of similar vision. The Yahoo deal reflects that Ballmer has luck on his side which certainly comes in handy. Also CEO’s that are not receiving disapproval from the press are probably not bold enough in their decisions to be CEO.

  • New Group Making a Run at Yahoo [View article]
a deal only an investment banker would love especially considering the commercial debt markets are largely closed for M&A transactions.

  • The Time Is Now for Microsoft-Yahoo Search Deal [View article]
Ballmer's comments that he doesn't want Yahoo anymore are also saying now Ballmer only wants pieces of Yahoo. He can get this because Yahoo! is in a weaker position more so than ever.

"This is largely complete nonsense." = Would not this be a contradiction to what Yahoo! has done in previous negotiations?

  • Yahoo's 'Poison Pill' Against MSFT Takeover Deemed 'Nuts' [View article]
"It's not nuts--it's extreme brinksmanship." All your examples are from movies; your credibility is lost. You forgot "Barbarians at the Gate" That was all about takeovers; it even had a future Presidential candidate in the movie. He failed in the movie also.

  • While Microsoft and Yahoo Fiddle, Google Burns [View article]
“Yahoo (YHOO) and Microsoft (MSFT) don’t have much time to get their acts together” What a foolish statement. You’re saying it’s different this time, GOOG will rule forever!! What actually will happen is something unexpected and unimagined and GOOG will stumble. Just like Yahoo and Microsoft stumbled. The story is as old as the story mentioned in your headline for the article.

  • The Gathering Clouds: Reconceptualizing Data [View article]
The transition appears to be acknowledging value in sharing data rather than focusing on hiding it as a trade secret because there is synergy in sharing. There is also the simultaneous goal of hiding data as a trade secret.

To Historian1, I wish it were that simple, but then i don't because it would be too boring.

  • Google Gearing Up for Microhoo Scrum? [View article]
"Google (GOOG) has hired Frank Quattrone" maybe that's where it will begin and end; YHOO hired him because they foresaw the news that would be read in that act. You fell for it.

  • Why the Yahoo Deal Must Happen [View article]
"the browser is increasingly the only operating system that matters anyway" = you're describing a single user who simply surfs the web.
If that's what makes up the world, than we agree.
If it were that simple, MSFT would have no ago solved the problem.

  • Ballmer to Yahoo: Feudalism Is Dead [View article]
No one has made a higher bid, and MSFT should raise its bid? This makes no sense. Luckily, YHOO rigidity will be broken by stockholder involvement, and MSFT will get the company.
Regarding MSFT's floundering, companies have come and gone, and MSFT is still here; they must be doing many things right and it is reflected in MSFT's balance sheet.

  • Why I'm Betting on Google Over Microsoft [View article]
"but it's no ordinary pony, it's a unicorn" = it's different this time
That's a bubble because it is never true

"Google hired mostly the engineering talent of Microsoft" - This is not consistent with MSFT being weak.

"threatening the software giant's very relevance" = all the buzz words to create a visible earnings picture for MSFT's opponents.

These article that say: "I must be smart, I'm insulting MSFT are getting boring"
