  • Activision's 52 Week High Is Only The Beginning For 2013 [View article]
I'm hoping that this is the case!! Get out from under Vivendi and then build up that cash horde again.

Please point to one place in my last 120+ comments where I said I didn't believe in the stock's potential or have said it's overvalued. I see you're new to this board and that you're also not capable of reading very well.

If you've kept up with these boards at all you'd realize that I am and have been long ATVI for a couple years now....

  • Activision's 52 Week High Is Only The Beginning For 2013 [View article]
I'm still strongly convinced that the bump was caused by the allusion to taking on debt and the only real reason I could see ATVI management (who seems to be VERY cautious about acquisitions and this type of risk taking) doing so would be some deal with Vivendi where they bought them fully or partially out.

It just doesn't make sense to me otherwise. We both had expected this pop to take place before DIII & BO2 came out and before they managed their record breaking year in 2012.

I am hopeful of great things in 2014 and 2015 but can't imagine that 2013 will be a blockbuster year for any of their titles. More competition from others copying Skylanders. No DIII. Starcraft has it's incredible fan base but this title is established and I don't predict a huge jump in sales above estimates. WoW will decline but not horribly. I will be very surprised if CoD hasn't peaked.

Of course, there is a lot of money pouring into stocks right now... so that could be part of it.

  • Activision: Long Dormant Gaming Concern Breaks Out [View article]
bah, all these articles seem to be written for nothing more than to make a few quick $$ for the writer and are missing what is really happening behind the scenes here.

Based on what you're saying I would love for you to make the case as to why ATVI had the pop this quarter yet never had in the past when ATVI performed above expectations as was done this time. And for all the other quarters there was greater optimism about the future and following year. Which there is little to no optimism this time and greater levels of uncertainty about Destiny and Titan.

Simply put, if you really want to know what caused ATVI to pop you'll need to read into what's been alluded to which is "ATVI is considering taking on debt" then you need to then ask yourself "why would a company with this much cash go into debt?". If you find the answer to this question you'll see why ATVI popped and you'll also see why the stock market is rigged against the small time investor.

I'm long ATVI and even though this pop made me good money it further reduced my faith in the stock market and reinforced my belief as to why this game is made to pay the big investors and screw us individual investors.

My guess: ATVI is going to use a buttload of cash to pay off Vivendi... this is the catalyst that caused the 12% pop.

  • Can Activision Blizzard Finally Break $14 [View article]
You're probably still too young to have accumulated a significant number of shares but if you have, covered calls are probably the way to go until the Titan announcement.

I'm long with you Christopher but be careful. When ATVI has an earnings call with 98 positive and 2 negative talking points, this stock always drops the following day.

Their games lineup is stellar. The problem is they lack liquidity and and their CEO sucks.

I don't think the market has moved. I just believe that now there are different boundaries or lines drawn than there were before.

ATVI has proven that the absolute best games made can and will sell better than ever. Granted ATVI's stock price isn't reflecting this but that is for different reasons altogether.

The mobile bubble burst with ZNGA. And I'm still mad about this because I bought short-term puts and missed it badly. :(

  • Activision Blizzard Set To Have Blowout 4th Quarter [View article]
They did. Then repeated it during questions.

But their repeated message of a slowdown in 2013 killed this stocks positive momentum. If this is going to be a range bound stock for the next 50 years at least allow us our upticks without doing your best to kill those as well.

Praying you're right! I plan on being a dumbass and will ride this to it's grave at my average buy-in price of $5.60 per share. Good luck to all!

I know Blaster sold 1-2 days ago at an 80%+ loss. Sorry to hear that bud! :(

  • Activision Blizzard Set To Have Blowout 4th Quarter [View article]
A day earlier and this would have been an excellent writeup but regardless it still provides some valuable insight from a gamers perspective.

Now get your butt back to the computer and help assuage some of my worries and questions as to why they mentioned a weaker 2013 about a dozen times in the call. I'm pretty positive that if they would not have done this the stock would be sitting at $12-$12.50 today instead of only making up about 1/2 of ATVI's loss from yesterday.

Wouldn't hurt to add where your thoughts were inline with what ATVI said last night and where you were off.

    Good 1st article!

  • Why World Of Warcraft Will Drag Activision Blizzard's Earnings Down [View article]
IMO, the best that you can do is look at the track record of Blizzard to make this speculative success or failure decision when attempting to judge Titan without any knowledge of the product.

Comparing ATVI & Blizzard games to other (in my opinion, failed) games of lesser video game makers is like comparing Apple products to the Chinese imitation knockoffs.

It's just not a fair or a like comparison.

    To each his own... though.
