Now You See It, Now You Don't: Peregrine's Bavi Might Work After All [View article]
The 'red flags' you expose is a good 'primer' for those venturing into small & micro cap biotechs.[thank you] For some reason, the top management of a number of these companies trading for under $2 & much less, feel justified in raking off salaries that are equal to the 'big boys' in the mid-cap+ biotechs that are actually producing positive cash flows.
Another 'modus operandi' of this sector seems to snag as many investors in their company, then diluting the shares with a secondary private offerings with warrants below its market value - thus their 'trap' is sprung.
Please correct me if my observations are incorrect. But I can furnish a list of the 'ilk' of the biotech that have betrayed investors just in the past 6 mos.
CIM is a real 'brier bush' in my portfolio - a real 'value trap'? Seems the company has total disrespect for its shareholders. Their 'silence' may speak volumes of the company's condition. Does their management have a lack of professional ethics? Surely, the 'Street Insiders' remaining mute about CIM must think the 'retail rabble' can't handle the Truth? Appreciate Mr. P. for the article.

Finally, an indepth anyalysis of HL. I live in Idaho & like to support companies in our State's economy [Although, MU was once touted in the WSJ as a $200/sh stock & has been cruel to my portfolio]. Amazing that almost all the major analysts were touting HL when it was above $6 Your article restored my confidence & save me many $$$ by not baling at a loss. S. A. is the 'go-to' site for evaluating 'buys & sells' for me. Honest, a unbiased, in-depth analysis is a rarity for small investor [like me] info. Many Thanks.

A better bet than putting a 100 bucks on 'red' in Vegas! And more fun. At least this company has more than just a post office box on the 'penny market' as their only asset. Hey, appreciate your research.

These are a few examples; but will be developing an updated list for my portfolio. What I do not understand that in most analysis do I see the compensation included. The following is info from Reuters on salaries not including options & warrants: Samples:
NBS = $10 million + for a 64 cent non-profit stock HEB = $5 million after a nice dilution to 28cents/share CUR = $2+ million for 2 mgmt @ $1.25/share CBRX = $2million + for a 60 cent stock INO = $3+ million One of my favorites: ZLCS = $3+ million for 3 people for destroying the share values.
These are not the best of my examples but just a 'quickie' survey of about 150 different biotech companies in which i have prospered & suffered. I just got a notice from MEIP on their reverse split based on the voted of one shareholder holding over 60% of the company. I admit that I need to do more DD; but looks to those who write for S.A. who have very strong credentials in the medical field; yet I see they are often 'blind-sided' by a company that they are championing.
Appreciate your question & hope to supply more info in the future.

PBA is much more prolific in the patient population than indicated by this article. A number of procedures & medical conditions that are just assumed to be followed by PBA events by practitioners. Examples: micro-strokes [T.I.A.s]; post certain cardiac events; a variety of epileptic seizure types; certain benign brain tumors [infarcts]; reactions to certain drugs for blood pressure; glaucoma [optic neurosis]; pre-diabetic treatments; SSRIs; low sexual hormones and more. My experience with PBA is personal. Also, information from surveying my neurologists, cardiologists, nurses, and more. My comments are motivated in response to this article about the medical community denying treatment for this devastating disorder. I hope to make a more in-depth commentary in the future. I would like input from those who have done more research on PBA & their sources. Thank you for your analysis.

PDLI is the perfect stock: "How to lose $$$ by depending on so-called Pro-Analysts rating a '10' & a Strong S.B. by almost all the Top Ten Brokers [i am sure that i am not the first to say: "Why do you think they are called 'BROKErs'. As a novice, have lost more $$$ on them & Cramer, then doing my own DD. What about the rest of you Readers or am I just an unlucky & naive to believe the Experts?
Speculative Investors Should Take Note Of This $11 'Cloud' Stock With Serious Upside Potential [View article]
What justifies a company in 'growth mode' to pay out about $8,000,000 in annual executive salaries for 5 positions? [$ACTV] How should an investor use Exec. Comp. as a metric in evaluating any investment?
Are the values of options owned by Execs be consiered as another metric? [Ex: $CORT CEO owns $75 million in options in a small cap. company [pps = $2.90].
Is there a methodology to know when these numbers become 'red flags' in one's research of a specific company?
Cash Rich, Fast Growing Biotech With Further Upside Ahead [View article]
I am long on SPPI & was encouraged by the Strong Buy analysis - e.g. T&R & the company's reports. I am confused by the stock tracking downward last week as the DOW was zooming up? Why the institutional 'biotech bright folk' selling SPPI? How will this stock hold up when the next herd of 'bears' attack the market? [Maybe bears travel in herds only in the 'world of investments'?] And why have the 'shorts' been hanging on for so many weeks on this particular stock?
Do you have a price that will pull the trigger to 'counter-attack' & snare more shares? Appreciate your well-crafted articles.

Your Analysis is better than all I have read by many of the 'sophisticated' rating services [suspect some analysts are 'self-serving' trying to justify their 'antiquated' methodologies in this new 'vix-infected' market environment]. Sort of like trying to use Newtonian math in the world of quantum physics? Thanks for an analysis for which I have been searching on ARR.

The Enigma: Why are not more institutional investors purchasing several of these 'gems' with potential for growth even in a 'sour' economy; yet they bet clients' money into IPO's with a little asset support or future earnings potential in the next few years.
