  • Walton family to cut from its near-50% stake in Wal-Mart [View news story]
Entry level unskilled jobs don't pay well?

    You don't say.

Btw, Wal-Mart managers aren't that poorly paid and they all started out at the bottom

As a dis shareholder, igers generous CEO compensation has been worth every penny. I pity anyone who chose ge over dis in the last several years

  • Barron's on GE: Sell the news [View news story]
By the time ge hits 30+ again, stocks like V, dis, bmy, ba, nke, cmi etc will have wildly outperformed it.

I stand by my original assertion that ge has been one of the worst large cap blue chips to own the last couple of decades. Getting out of finance is a step in the right direction but there have been and will continue to be much better places to put your money

  • Caterpillar Is A Buy At These Levels [View article]
Buy CMI instead. Has done much better than CAT over the short- and long-term. Not quite the dividend yield, but part of that may be its better share performance.

  • GE downgraded at Moody's; shares now up 4.5% [View news story]
Agree with Moody's. Dumped a ton last year at $26+. Today will be a good day to unload the rest of this blue chip dog.

If you want industrials/manufactur... I'd go with CMI and BA.

If you want healthcare, do an ETF, or maybe JNJ, BMY, PFE
