  • Next inversion? Hospira reportedly bidding for Danone unit [View news story]
Great. I hope one of these inversions lights a fire under congress's butt and gets some reform going on corporate tax reform.

I love V and MA as much as the next guy, but I don't see V being a 10x bagger from here, esp. at this market cap (unless you were like me and got some shares around $42 at the depths of the 2009 recession).

Amazon's sick brutality manages to be worse than Wal-mart..... as said by a left-leaning magazine, Salon!

"Wal-Mart would have no profit if they paid their 2.2 million employees are fair wage."

AMZN makes no profit and they still don't pay their workers much better. They also are much harder on them on the clock.

Yet they don't pay a "living wage" Enjoy being a hypocrite?

"Wal-Mart would have zero profit if they paid their 2.2 million workers a fair wage. Unions will take hold at Wal-Mart and that will be a death blow to Wal-Mart."

AMZN has 0 profits and they still don't pay workers a "living wage." And they make their workers run around in sweatbox package warehouses without proper breaks.

TGT, MCD, YUM etc. don't pay "living wages" either. Besides, we all know that a "living wage" exists in leftist liberal la la land, while reality is very different.

Go stand on a soapbox somewhere else.

Until Amazon starts having to collect sales tax in every state, and investors start demanding actual profits from Bezos.

As stated below me, WMT's biggest problem is WMT. Hopefully the leadership change will bring supply-chain management that is sorely needed.

The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

"But we are still talking about one of the best brands, run by one of the best management teams in one of the biggest bull markets of all time.

So the gap down really grabbed my otherwise feeble attention."

Actually no, KO is an existential crisis and really has not much else to fall back on (PEP has food at least). PEP vs KO has been an obvious slaughterfest. KO's problems are unique to KO and IMO do not reflect the underlying equity market as a whole.

I've been telling my friends to sell for KO for a couple of years now. Its share price has literally gone sideways since then.

  • Amazon -6% AH; major Q3 op. loss expected [View news story]
"TSLA doesn't even have that, and it's a $20B market cap company! With more vaporware than actual products sold.

The market is crazy sometimes. AMZN should be worth $20B (at best) and TSLA should be worth about $5B."

TSLA has a CEO who doesn't eschew profit as much as Bezos does. TSLA also makes an "aspirational" and propietary product (supercharger network) and cares about margins. AMZN competes with WMT. I sleep well at night owning TSLA. You couldn't pay me to buy AMZN even after this recent sell off.
