  • Bank Of America: Buy Before Everyone Else Does [View article]
I love trading this stock. Its in a strong up swing in price so I dumped a shedload of shares today, with the intension to reposition those funds next week probably in this stock. BAC the bank that keeps on giving. What is not to love about it ? I guess I could be grumpy and bitch about not getting more or whatever.

  • Bank Of America: A Deep Value, Low-Risk Investment With At Least 20% Upside Potential [View article]
I wonder when this $18 stock masquerading as a $16 stock will rise up and be recognized for what it is.

Absolutely, I generally like to see animosity and contention which suggests a few people really have a bone to pick with a company, as it reflects the struggle of bears versus the bulls over the share price but his repetitive drum beating does get tiresome in its pointless distortion of reality. I really disagree that a small chat board like SA could have a material affect on the share price of a significant institution like BAC with its billion of shares outstanding, and trading tens of millions of shares daily.
So you might want to rethink that aspect of your comment a bit.

Fun Fun wasn't active when I was trading this stock a couple years back as I was perusing these message boards daily. So I suspect his antagonism stems from a more recent struggle with the firm, perhaps a layoff or possibly a mortgage struggle that he eventually lost.

Funfun must have been burnburned somewhere in its past. I can't imagine anyone carrying on like this for so long.

  • Bank Of America Rated As Juicy: One Of The Few We'd Go Long In This Economic Climate [View article]
There is a dividend just around the corner, I know, I know, its only five pennies but its indicative of a future with enhanced dividends going forward as opposed to the last 5 years.

More specifically from a short term perspective, the stock has moved upwards some on the backs of huge volume. There is an old saying that volume precedes price. So it looks to me after two days of significantly higher volume, the stock price could also move significantly higher.

My 15.95 encompasses the cost of all purchases

I also agree with the concept of "artificial depression" and that is my primary interest. I also agree that the climate in this country will continue to favor the banking industry in the near term despite strong individuals views otherwise.

Oh and one more admission, in my buying window I closed out my purchases with a buy of 100 shares of WFC at a loaded price of 49.91 due to provocations from these threads. Very much an after thought reaction.

My expectations are limited. I could be satisfied with a "base hit" of BAC returning to the recent March high which would net me about $50K, but if the future continues to look good, I may be able to ride along for more. That will depend on the itchiness of my trigger finger in the future. So $20 or higher numbers are merely dreams of possibilities that I cannot yet
    fully imagine.

Though I have traveled a good share of the world, I am in no rush to send my investment monies anywhere else. The world is complex and what one sees is not necessary the reality of what may be behind the scenes. I don't know but I have always had the philosophy of keeping my investment monies near at hand with things I can better understand.

    Simple question but complicated answer:

The first two fifths were purchased in April at 17.09
More recently starting July 31 through August 12, I've assembled three fifths of my position in the low $15s ranging in price 15.07 to 15.33 in 15 different purchases with one exceptional block at 14.85. The entire groupings of blocks now averages at 15.95

Sloppy unquestionably. Out of the money, yes. Willing to wait for profits to come my way, yes. Will I resolve to improve my entry skills next time, undoubtedly, just like the last time and the time before that, etc.

$6 was a good entry point. I spent an inordinate amount of time watching this stock back then, and of course trading it for significant profits at the time. That experience is part of why I feel comfortable to return at present. If I were to lose 70% of my investment in it, this would not amount to my biggest loss ever, though perhaps significant. I am not in the market for measuring and evaluating losses but the contrary.

So far the stock has behaved rather well and I continue to be pleased with the timing and direction of things, my goal is to achieve base hits not home runs but I'll take those as they happen.

Great dialog between you two. It is what I come to these boards in search of. In any case, I have drawn my line in the sand and think my assessment of risk and reward is fine. Best of luck to you both. Although I'm sure luck has little to do with your respective successes.

Thanks Scoreboard, I generally try to ignore others when I make my decisions. Some are easier to ignore than others. I rounded out my position this morning. No more buying for me. I'll save my reserves for other targets or other opportunities or situations. Its time to be patient.

Perhaps my comfort derives from past profits I have made in this stock. Or perhaps it comes from watching the tape as it progresses during the various trading sessions of any given day. Or perhaps it comes for an innate confidence in my own skills and judgment ? I really don't know. I just know I am in and prepared to take some profit when and if it appears.

I am a trader. I have made a small profit in BAC so far this year. I am holding some shares in a loss position that I bought subsequent to the profits I made back in Q1. Lately I have increased my position to effect a lower average price per share. I hope to sell all these shares later on this year to increase my tot al profits. I would be comfortable holding longer term, but I prefer trading. I enjoy watching this stock in its daily moves and especially admire it liquidity, one can count on be able to find a buyer or a seller throughout the trading day. There is a certain comfortableness about this stock. The recent dividend increase announcement is welcome news. I will definitely try to hold through that point. I think the stock will rise with time.

I see there is still some hatred towards this company. That is a good thing. It will be eventually swept aside assuming the company continues to perform well. As this eventuality takes place the stock price will increase over that time. Also a good thing. Timing and patience are important attributes for investors.
