      vs.
      Parag. #8 "the crude oil market switched to contango in July"
      Graph & chart relect the former, correct, statement
      according to the definition in Parag. #11.

      The definitions of 'backwardation' and 'contango' are mixed up."E.g.,

      'backwardation.' In simple language, this means that near-expiration futures contracts cost more than longer-term contracts; that oil today costs less than oil tomorrow."
