    Yet this article only puts Apple's revenue share at 10% out of 5 the top 5 that's awful! Of course 10% isn't very accurate, I wonder why it's difficult to estimate better?

    Hmmm, well many of the watch features won't work without being paired to the phone. Hence, if need be Apple Pay will just be a feature paired with the phone, which will require an upgrade to at least a 5S.

    DWBowers is correct, physics always wins, ... IF you were able to put all of your weight on your right or left cheek, as in buttocks, with your phone in your back pocket you'd have to weight 1707lbs to put 90 lbs of force on the middle square inch of the iPhone 6+.

    That's the weight of a moose or a brown bear!

    But what the heck who cares about physics any who! <sarcasm intended>

    @yakkinYeti,

    >>My main question would be how relatively low wage earners could amass $200,000 in their forties. I know RS was just using this as a theoretical example, ruling out children, mortgage and so on.<<

    That's also easy, consider Silicon Valley, the living wage according to Santa Clara County in 2012 was $75,000 for a family of four, this hypothetical couple is now making $90,000, eh?! Let's say this dual income family is not only frugal but has chosen to downsize over the last 15 years. I have two employees now both 26 years old who have dual incomes in excess of $80K. Let's just say the "living wage" 15 years ago was $70K for a family of four. This couple with no kids could easily have 15 years ago saved $8-10,000 annually.

    So at 25 years old let's say they saved $10,000 and steadily increased to $15K over 15 years => $185,000 add some interest, $200,000!

    That's a great point Dennis! It's the proverbial which came first the chicken or the egg. I would say, and my millennial always makes the point, that he's into Apple all things because his boomer dad broke away from the Windows world when he was first grade thereabouts, and he's never touched anything else with purpose since.

    So the authors point is still valid, it is just absent the millions of boomer parents.

  • GM's New Electric Vehicle A Good Sign For Tesla's Growing Market [View article]
    @tcb, by "full" what exactly do you mean? The prius plug-in qualifies for HOV access until 2019 or when the 40,000+15,000 stickers run out, however, the stickers can be increased again as it was this year.

    So until that day the green and white stickers have the same benefit, it's just that the white stickers are unlimited.
