That's fair, I'm thinking some type of linear model, it very well may be a model that favors 2015, but My money is on the "lagging" late adopters. We saw this with Prius sales in he USA as well. It's like it took people who commute years to wake up to the reality of tax incentives, and when they did, whoa, the flow was steady.

@Bill, well the first cycle is not repeatable recall PeterJA's table,

    "the demand is not repeatable"
Look at the tax rate table for 2016-2020, and apply a little brain power. If rising taxes pulled 2016 demand into 2015, then they will also pull:
    2017 demand into 2016
    2018 demand into 2017
    2019 demand into 2018
    2020 demand into 2019.

What you are really saying is that the "pulling 2016 demand into 2015" is not repeatable. However the circumstances that caused the pulling of demand, e.g., the tax incentives, still exists for another 3 years, hence pulling of demand is repeatable but on a diminishing number of sales.

koopa, that's not the direction the car industry is going, so the reality is "If I [as in you] can't find a car with cable ... I'm out" because that's the future!

I've noticed no delay with my BT paired wireless Bose headphones, just a lag as the laptop "hands off" to headphones from the built-in speakers. BTW keep in mind that BT allows one to move around say 25 feet or more.

Sigh, you can't have it both ways, "loyal iPhone owners" and "not a fan". But here goes.

Yes I totally welcome the option of no 3.5mm jack because Apple consistently finds a way to drop one thing and add another that I years ago didn't think I needed.

Case in point: At the time, 3 years ago, the wireless options for headphones sucked! Let's be honest, so the only audiophile solution was a 3.5mm jack for a quality headset. Enter 2016, Bose has had a wireless solution for like 18 months now, the first was ugly as all get out, but the current iteration is reliable and sound quality is better than my earbuds (3.5mm). With Airplay and the near takeover of bluetooth on anything audio/TV what exactly do i need the 3.5mm jack for?

Case in point 2: My new Chevy Volt 2016 has a 3.5mm jack, two of them actually, sound absolutely sucks using my phone this way, the old fashioned way. However, using Car Play pairing my phone with the Volt, superb quality and reliability. Of course, I can still pair and use the ear buds for a private call - turning off Car Play - but I'm still "old fashioned" believing it's rude to accept a private call with passengers.

Now I would say your are being "fan boyish" using terms like "force you to go wireless"! I feel no coercion at all. It's called upgrade cycles. Just because Apple comes out with the iPhone 7 none are "forced" to upgrade to it! I'm quite sure that their existing phone will still be functional for an additional 2-3 years when Apple comes out with the iPhone 8 that has yet some other obsolete "thing" missing.

Further it depends where one is coming from. My iPhone 6S obviously has a 3.5mm jack, upon going to Bose wireless headphones the quality greatly reduced because of my starting point. Albeit, someone else may have really cheap wireless headphones and regardless of what jack or no jack on their phone going to Bose will still give them a sound quality and reliability bump.

@aussie, one can still be paired with multiple devices with a bluetooth headset wirelessly, and some protocol determines who interrupts who. For instance with my Bose headphones if a call comes in the video I'm watching on my laptop is muted and video put on pause, while I have the full feature set with the call. As soon as the call ends, the video play/sound is restored.

Thanks much, coming from there that's an encouraging estimates! Q1 is always the lowest quarter so 4×16,000 for a low end estimate, I'll take that.

Thanks ChiTown34, we need an "agree" button on SA whereas we "agree" to not speculate and actually read source material.

Thanks splashes for an interesting aside that is actually useful in determining the integrity of some of these arguments on SA.

Some have wondered out loud why such "spit" such vitriol such flaming going back and forth, so have I. You may be on to something.
