It seems like part of the hybrid E is due to leftovers from transitioning to Income Investing, eh?

Thanks Brian the same blessing to you! This year I start transitioning out of work, but I've always felt my real career is investing. My son just finished college and is networking his way into grad-school and his first full-time job here in San Francisco. I look forward to seeing him become an investor!

  • Scanning The SA Family For Alpha: Daskapital1000 [View article]
Hi RS, I'm a 5 out of 5 "I", I will retire early after 25 straight years of investing, I'm a late starter compared to many on SA.

However, I'm finishing a recent transition to Income as an investor, although I've always had a few Dividend Income stocks, I was very open to Growth stocks. I still hold SCTY, AAPL, TSLA, and BRK.B. In fact I started with BRK.B and VNQ (a REIT). Some of my DGI stocks were entered into for Growth reasons, for instance DIS and WFC, since the initial purchase my reason to hold has changed but I bought DIS several times on dips way back when Disney acquired the Lucas Films franchise for growth purposes not for income.

Now at 55 I've divested of most of my other Growth stocks and I can retire early.

I am not sure if your Growth list is average I've never held AMZN or FB nor would. I understand some of the commenters points about TSLA but the "no profit" of AMZN is IMHO not comparable to that of TSLA. Tesla is about heavy reinvestment, reinvestment in infrastructure (gigafactory and superchargers) and future battery science. It would appear that one may loathe the business practices of Tesla, but it seems like context of the balance sheet should matter.

  • Apple: May Has Come And Gone And No $140; Where We Stand [View article]
Right on rebecca21! I use Apple Pay whenever it's presented and it can't be presented at a table in a restaurant unless each waiter has some handheld device, so unless, Cliff has one of those diners where customers pay at the register I would not as a customer ask for Apple Pay either!

  • Apple And Icahn: Pillars Of Growth [View article]
Can't compare the two, Apple is looking at building a new disruptive technology, GM went bust off of the old world order - ICE autos, heavily dependent upon the dealer network. Apple has the capacity to do something truly disruptive w battery powered drivetrains, two different paradigms. And consider their capacity to make Porsche like margins. Ouch!

Ah ... from the article ... "Among those other tasks, Ive says, is a focus on the design of Appleā€™s retail stores and new campus [including furnishings]."

There you go, Ive gets to move into his sweet spot of interest!

However, if boredom is the reason, handing over day to day management seems to open the gate to even more boredom!

  • Tracking Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Portfolio - Q1 2015 Update [View article]
Too small a window look at the 2yr window, Brk.b is almost an inversion of S&P500, but they trend in the long term the same. I'd say May and June will be buying opportunities then another prolonged upward tick, see the averages.

  • Apple Stock: Affirming My $140 Target By The End Of May [View article]
Wow Benjamin, just wow! From time to time commenters say pretty much exactly what you say, they get several comments negating what they said, many to the tune of 30+ likes, but the OP never makes any counter points.

Please Benjamin, break the mold of the past and post a salient counter-argument!
