  • Update: Alacer Gold Has Been Under Selling Pressure From Its Largest Shareholder [View article]
Thanks for this article! I had been wondering why Alacer had not been in tow with my other miners which seemed to have improved with near identical consistency. There seemed to be something pulling them down (which wasn't bad PM news for once). I like Alacer, it's down for me at the moment, but I don't mind holding it for the long term.

  • Doug Loud And Jeff Mosseri: 3 Reasons Why Gold And Gold Stocks Will Rise [View article]
And to think, all the GoldCorp fans who were berating Osisko holders for wanting a better deal. Well done to Osisko for holding out. Very happy with the transition to cash, Yamana, AEM and OR holdings.

  • Tesco's Price Drop Offers Excellent Value [View article]
Agreed. I've held LON:TSCO for several years now, and I continue to hold for dividends. But I can see the share price continuing on a downward trend as Aldi/Lidl continue to win over shoppers (including most of my relatives who now show at at Aldi/Lidl and wouldn't go back to Tesco). I may sell on 'good news'.

  • Silver And Gold: Buy And Hold [View article]
Would you say there's a confiscation risk in the event of a $ collapse? I mean, would it not be the very first port of call in that event?

[ EDIT - sorry, I need to learn to read..., you said quite clearly: "Good advice is to buy as much physical silver and gold as you can now and hold it outside the banking system", the main point being 'outside' ]

  • Agnico Eagle, Yamana Gold announce C$3.9B friendly takeover of Osisko [View news story]
Well done OSK, stood firm against GG. If GG made a reasonable offer, rather than the insulting and opportunistic one they actually made (fueled by suppressed 2013 PM prices felt across the whole sector) all this nasty business could have been avoided.

(incidentally, I'd rather OSK hadn't been taken over at all. One senses the potential upside with a recovery in PM prices would have been greater for OSK shares alone than even a YAU/AEM combination in the event... but currently holding YAU already and nice to have AEM in for the ride)

  • Sprott's John Embry: Gold And Silver Making A Bottom? [View article]
I hold gold stocks, and have had KWN on my newsreader for several years. Recently I've taken it off, as KWN's "Boy who cried wolf" routine is getting very tiring. It's hard to treat the site with any credibility at all. From time to time, the information and interviews have been at least interesting (if not accurate), but now it feels like an Umberto Eco novel full of superstition, conspiracy and masonic nonsense.

I can see a reasonable future for gold/silver, but the 'boogie man' is fast becoming the go-to for every wrong prediction that KWN publishes.

  • Osisko says Goldcorp fight getting in the way of dividend plan [View news story]
I suspect the previous 2 commentators are GG holders?

The only thing GG gives OSK holders is a substantially limited upside on their share value if there's a boost in metal prices. Cynical opportunism on the part of GG. I have voted, and hope the majority vote the same way and aren't swayed by GG goons.

  • Adrian Day: Ditch The Risk And Embrace The Upside [View article]
"That's why I applaud Goldcorp Inc.'s (GG) bid for Osisko Mining Corp. "

Would you still applaud it if you were an OSK holder? I hope most of us will be voting NO to that borderline-insulting bid of opportunism.

  • Osisko CEO says Goldcorp's hostile offer bad for entire mining sector [View news story]
Indeed. Submitted my vote via TD.

Want Osisko? Get your wallet out GG...

  • Goldcorp: A Compelling Growth Story With Minimum Political Risk [View article]
As stated, so much of this is dependant on the gold price. Say prices picked up 6-12 months down the line, who's going to be happier? OSK holders, or GG holders who were once OSK holders? I really hope Osisko shareholders have the patience to withstand a GG takeover. For many shareholders currently down on OSK in the short term, this only seems to replace their shares with another gold company that has less potential for upside movements.

  • Should Goldcorp Buy Out Osisko Mining? [View article]

I'm currently down about 40% on OSK. If Goldcorp buy them out, even at a 15% premium to the current SP (which I think has been priced in today), I'm looking at ending up with GoldCorp shares that are 66% of my original investment with no major potential for capital growth even when the gold price does increase.
