With demand for Windows 8 touch systems coming up short, it looks as if Intel (INTC) is betting big on Android: Digitimes reports Lenovo (LNVGY.PK) will launch an 11" Intel-based Android notebook/tablet convertible for its Yoga line in May, and that H-P, Toshiba, Acer, and Asus will follow with similar hardware in Q3. CNET follows up by reporting Intel has design wins for ~$200 Android tablets - Intel is also shooting for that price point for Win. 8 tablets. One major challenge for Android convertibles: most Android apps haven't been written with keyboard/mouse use in mind. [View news story]
Tablets are also great for reading and viewing PDF files. With Google drive you can have your documents with you for access.
Great article John, I too would like see a Dish Sprint Clearwire linkup. I looks like Dish's plan is to extend this out. I think the longer it goes the more expensive for Softbank, his Yen doesn't by as much as it did. I noticed that Softbank won't up the anti for Sprint http://seekingalpha.co... Charlie is pretty crafty and it would be interesting to see what he would do if he acquired Sprint. Keep up the good work.

I am aware thanks. We have gone over this on other SA articles about ALU.
Contracts don't matter unless your efficient enough to make a profit on them. ALU has dropped the ball on this and the share price reflex this. I sold part of my shares this week at a profit but unless Mr. Combes works some kind of magic soon the other shares aren't far behind. There are other investments and this is beginning to feel like dead money.

Yes, but they are popular and that is where the market is also the $.
Lenovo seems to be able to do things in the PC market that IBM couldn't or wouldn't. Are the servers next?

I have been patient waiting for something to move the stock. So far it's been the magic carrot in front of the donkey cart. Just wait for this and just wait for that. We need something bold from Mr Combes but I am afraid we won't get it. Maybe the increased competition from China will be incentive. The problem is we have been waiting long and no matter what Mr. Combes does I am afraid will no longer thrill. Expectations are high and bound for disappointment. Maybe if he did things incrementally rather then build up for the grand statement. Like the Nike ads say "Just do it".

I remember 2009 adding for $45 I don't think we will that again without a split. They seem to like share prices $50 to $100 range. I remember at least one split.

Work to your ability take to your needs. Next thing you know they will be means testing everything. Taxes on IRA's, medical coverage, IQ's and maybe even political philosophy. It is disgusting what they have done to property rights.

Great article thank you. I have been a 3M holder for years and years in fact is one of my first investments. I have it in their DRIP plan. It is a great way to invest in this company. The company is local for me and that is one of the reasons I started the investment. You are correct in that their marketing is not the best and at times the execution could be improved also. Part of the problem is the need for strong leadership. They seem to lead by consensus. This is evident by they have gone outside the company for CEO's the last couple of choices. It is a strong company with along history here in Minnesota. Very diversified almost to the point of excess.
