  • Why You Should Buy This 10-Bagger's Dip [View article]
I bought out of the money call options on the dip a week ago. I'm already quite pleased that I did. I agree with your thesis about fundamentals. Until I see a handle form on the cup, call options might be a less expensive play to get exposure.

  • Uni-Pixel: Bright Future Promised By Clouding The Gruesome Reality For The Less Informed [View article]
Mr Z, you certainly deserve recognition now the end is getting nearer. You were certainly attached and vilified, as were most everyone else trying to put up a red flag or two. Kudos for your early warnings. I hope you made enough money off of shorting UNXL to further your goals. Still hasn't dropped back below $5 yet, though, has it?

Is it finally time to write an eulogy and put this "Stephen King" novel to rest? I kind of feel sorry for Chris Hoffman, giving consideration to his bulldog persistence and herculean due diligence effort.

  • Uni-Pixel: Still The Best Investment For 2013 [View article]
"Uni-Pixel: Still The Best Investment For 2013"

Happy New Year to all investors.

2013 has come and gone and UNXL is among one of this years price losers for 2013.

    It opened Jan 3, 2013 at $13.70 and closed Dec 31, 2013 at $10.01.

It was a winner for me (I got out for the most part in the 30's) but certainly, far from being the best of the best. The best winner for me was ACAD, giving credit to SamasaricSuffer for the tip.

So, in retrospect, what lessons can an investor take away from having "invested" in UNXL?

For me, it reinforced to be wary of excessive hype that can't be verified one way or the other.

  • NQ Mobile: Clearing Up The Muddied Waters Means A Short Squeeze On The Horizon [View article]
I am so fortunate to have bought a bunch of calls at $12.50 at the bottom last week. I now wish I hadn't sold a third of them for big profit a little while ago before reading this.

  • Tesla Motors: Dilution Is Inevitable [View article]
I may be a typical TSLA holder of stock. Initially, I bought around 1,000 shares at an average of $28 per share, a modest $28,000 investment. I sold 500 shares at an average $120. I'm very pleased with my profits. I have done a number of swing trades since, upping my profits.

I plan to hold the remaining shares for as long as I live. I no longer stress over the day to day share price. My two sons will someday inherit 250 shares each.

My wife also bought shares too. She sold 2/3 of hers shares at $120. Her stop loss is currently set at $159. She is a more of a short term thinker and greedier than I am.

I like when I can take enough profits to fully cover any future losses.

The bottom line is that there are other investors out there like me who own shares that they NEVER intend to sell. It is sort of like framing the first dollar you ever earned.

Those who are itching to short TSLA, might want to consider there are some very long term investors, like myself. Just a thought.

  • Zillow May Stall Soon [View article]
Citron added Z to it's short list and the stock suffered today.

My first warning was when I was alerted that I picked up more shares this morning at 95 on a limit order that I forgot to remove. I pulled up the graph and the panic hit me as I have too big of a position with lots of profits. It's too big mainly because it's grown over threefold as I bought under 30.

What to do? I put in a stop loss at 88 (below what I thought might be support) and crossed my fingers. This gave me some time to Google and learned that Mr Andrew Left targeted Z. I had forgotten that he pulled this kind of stunt back at Z @ 44 something. Personally, I think his thesis is very weak. Zillow is practically a household word.

Now I have to give some thought to what is a reasonable mental stop loss going into Monday. The mention of Citron in the past had me dumping a stock. His success lately has suffered, take TSLA for example.

While perhaps outdated, thanks to Obama, the attached article below appears to contradict your thesis. What say you?

  • Sherwin-Williams: A Fine Company With Overvalued Shares [View article]
I had just put in a sell order for tomorrow ironically before I came across your piece. The technicals seem to be breaking down, so it's time for me to exit. Having talked to one of the reps a few months ago, he mentioned SHW has significantly increased it's overseas presence, which in part explains why SHW was doing so well (I'm guessing).

I assume you in part wrote your piece to help improve your return on your puts. In your research, do you have a recommendation for an alternative competitor to invest in. Paint is one of those Warren Buffet no brainers that will be around forever. I like to be invested in at least one paint company.

You helped confirm it was the right time for me to dump SHW. A well written negative Seeking Alpha article can certainly push a stock price down, at least in the short term, although it didn't seem to need much help as of late.

    Sure.

With my TSLA winnings that I have taken off the table to date I have enough to buy one.

    I own several hundred stocks.

Most all went down, except TSLA and gold stocks.

    TSLA and gold.

    Both solid today.

    Get my point?

  • Uni-Pixel: Still The Best Investment For 2013 [View article]
    Hi Chris,

What does your model project by year end? Are you still sticking with your assertion that UNXL is still the Best Investment in 2013?

I always maintained $11 to $13 was a reasonable price, at least, until UniBoss hit retailer's shelves. What is the projected date for release? I've been totally out of the game, but am looking for a good entry, date and price.
