  • Soaring Corn Prices Translate Into Opportunity For These Companies [View article]
Why I wanted to post on this thread ? What I'm most interested in is testing the quality of my screening process and the quality of my screens. For Example these are some of the stocks that I think are worthy of additional research. Please anyone, tell me if you agree.

My Picks Are: (EGHT); (GORO); (TPL); (VRTS); (CEMI); (NSU); (FHCO); (PSE); (QCOR); (STMP); (ASPS); (CJES); (BIDU); (ACUR); (VRNM); (FRAN); (FLL).

Most of these have little to no Debt, Strong R.O.A. 15 or above and quarter to quarter breakouts to the good and not too bad R.S.I.. Please, if you think there is a problem with these, let me know.

Opportunity, Yes; In that the prices in these shares will drop like a rock off of a cliff, but now isn't the time to be buying IMHO.

  • Soaring Corn Prices Translate Into Opportunity For These Companies [View article]
    Check this out :

    BY OWEN FLETCHER
Record corn prices and sluggish gasoline demand are squeezing profits for U.S. ethanol companies, prompting some producers to idle plants or slow production.

Valero Energy Corp., Abengoa Bioenergy US Holding Inc. and Nedak Ethanol LLC have idled plants since mid-June, citing poor market conditions for the corn-based fuel additive. And Archer Daniels Midland Co., the biggest U.S. ethanol producer by capacity, said that its ethanol margins had eroded to a loss of well over 20 cents a gallon.

Ethanol makers are grappling with higher spot prices for corn amid tight domestic supplies, due to disappointing crop yields in the last ...

Ethanol plants are having a hard time selling this product. Just the opposite is happening to the industry. Ethanol Plants need to buy corn just when prices are skyrocking and these plants are talking about how slow it is for them to sell the final product. This slow down in demand along with the higher cost of making product have some plants already talking about an industry slow down or threatening a temporary shut-down until pricing conditions change.

I bought for the same reason, but I didn't use S.A.. I used the web-site http://www.finviz.com most of the time you can trust their numbers. Perhaps this wasn't a slip. Sometimes you have to be able to wait to get rewarded.

  • Why Did This Large-Cap Airliner Get Demoted To Small-Cap Status? [View article]
What numbers am I looking at here ? What am I missing? AMR is in bankruptcy because they are $30 billion in debt ? Do I have that right ?
The memory of the American public is pretty well known. AMR has $25 billion in assets and $23.6 billion in ticket sales....., Humm....? I can't help thinking about Pho-Fur in moments like these; but I guess, bankruptcies are always real.

  • Why Did This Large-Cap Airliner Get Demoted To Small-Cap Status? [View article]
Am I missing something? American Airlines is in Bankruptcy because they are $30 billion dollars in debt, but their annual ticket sales are $23.6 billion. That's a difference of $6.4 billion. The attention span of the American public is very short, to include the American Flying public. Given this, there assets are being reported as $25 billion. Ticket sales and assets are; added together $48.6 Billion. I'm not perfect, so maybe I made a mistake here in my figuring.
