Just a typical baby boomer trying to accumulate enough capital so I don't have to work until I'm 80. I work in corporate income tax accounting, currently with a smaller national CPA firm. I enjoy Houston team sports, craft beer and home brewing, great music, golf, motorcycling, firearms, boating, discussing politics, (which I will do my best to avoid here - Ha!) and my beautiful family. After spending many years chasing home runs, I finally realized the futility of that investment mindset, and a few years ago I began to re-position my portfolio into Blue chip DGI stocks and other attractive income vehicles. I still tend to take a higher degree of risk than many my age would, but I augment a small percentage of higher risk investment with a solid foundation of dividend growth companies. Seeking Alpha has been a Godsend to my investment strategy. It allows me to monitor those higher risk securities through the research provided by contributors, and discussion with other investors available in the comments to articles. I love that you can read an article with one perspective, and then immediately see what take other investors have on that idea. To me, no one thing at Seeking Alpha has greater value than the opportunity for investors to debate and discuss the original authors position and relating strategies.
