Up to $150 B USD are being unfrozen as part of the deal; isn't that enough cash?

    Last paragraph

Hard to believe that SWIFT did not catch the transactions and the US not impose penalties for breaking sanctions unless transactions were done in gold

Reagan did it to the Soviet Union, not Russia, with its huge military-industrial complex; the roles are reversed today, don't you think so? US has bases closer to Russian borders and 18 T USD debt while Russia has about 20% (??) of GDP.

Our big Texas oil wells production went down; why not SA wells? how much money SA has spent on exploration and has a new oil deposit being found to replace existing ones? I haven't heard of any big discoveries; since the oil majors were kicked out in the 70s, there is no way of auditing or verifying their claims of 60 years supply

Why would Russia invade SA? Russia has enough oil; a couple cruise missiles fired from the Caspian Sea to SA for sponsoring terrorism will suffice

    @ Karl

Russian people are not blaming Putin for its economic difficulties but the West with its sanctions on mother Russia; lower rubles mean lower expenses and cheaper exports

    ".........access to state of the art financial data"; somebody has to decide if the data is noise or a signal and someone has to have scoring criteria for a stock; damn I did not know I could use engineering in the stock market;
very looong MO and PM; I used to pay attention to articles about MO ad PM on SA but mostly noise
Happy New Year and happy investing in 2016

  • Energy stocks see more pain after EIA data arrives  [View news story]

Thank you for reply and details on API and EIA; if I am going to be wrong I want have a big margin of safety; long on XOM and CVX and I figure if both get in trouble, the US has real trouble; like investor Jim Rogers said that somebody should never short oil because of its depletion, investors shorting it must have deep pockets
Good luck to oil investors and Happy New Year to all

I agree with you about these inventory numbers being all made just for political noise; remember in 07-08 financial crisis when the real estate entities were reporting increasing sales even when housing bubble was imploding and the same entities had to revise their numbers back down up to 3 years; is there anybody auditing any of such numbers?

  • Deep In The Chinese Economy, Bad Loans Trade On Alibaba  [View article]

The US financial crisis with the subprime mortgages of 08-09 caused world economy and trade to collapse and forced China to take such steps as you describe to bail out world trade; to blame China is unfair; how much did it cost the US taxpayers for the banks bailout? a few trillions? what about the backdoor bailout that the US Fed did secretly? 16T USD? this does not include all the lawsuits because of the junk mortgages bond; let's add up all the costs to see who is worst off

  • Altria: As Simple As It Gets  [View article]
Thank you for the article; I have been with MO for over a decade and up by several hundred % with divs reinvested; I only kept PM from the spin offs; if a stock split becomes true with BUD, I will be looking at a 1000% within sight in 2 or 3 years.
People have more spending with lower gasoline prices and if MO is able to make a deal for Cuban cigars now that we are talking to Cuba, both of these factors will increase valuation even more, imo.
    Long MO and PM
