  • Gold: Where Are We Now? [View article]
    Tom
    thank you for the great article; I don't pretend to know much about gold and silver markets but I think finally paper gold /silver instruments like GLD/SLV are getting SEPARATED and DIVORCED from the grips of CBs; people are seeing the fraud going on and demanding phyzz; this will cause volatility to increase but it will be interesting to see what will happen to the shorts when gold goes up $50 or silver in an upswing; it will be like caught in a vise

    our enemies, Russia and China, are accumulating gold, so if the West can bring the price down to $1000 we reduce their wealth

    Please be kinder to dick; it is a failure of the American educational system that doesn't work and teaches nothing about sound money economics after all

    I recommend that you start write a follow up article of when the paper gold and silver prices go down to zero while physical prices will zoom up because of demand; what will be the consequences to the markets and the bullion bankers; people from China, Japan, Singapore, and India are using this takedown to buy phyzz; people don't trust GLD and SLV papers anymore; lets see when London and COMEX go under if the anticorruption deniers eat their own merda

    One final note; I think that gold was smacked down in order to bailout the London market because it could not meet its physical obligations and therefore the 2 day smackdown to come up with 500 tons of gold

    The western Roman empire fell while the Eastern Roman empire managed to last another 1000 years till the Ottoman empire took over Constantinople and changed name to Instanbul.....one of the reason it lasted that long was of sound money

    Who needs Buffett when I own MO, PM, KRFT, and MDLZ; have you checked these stocks? f not you better; MO has been good to me since the big settlement with many good returns with spin offs of PM and KFT; and now MDLZ; now I am moving to COP and GIS; all these stocks have good management friendly to shareholders; dividends rates growth are above inflation; companies have been around for ever;
    I don't try to time market since for me is not a good practice; but yes a few weeks ago I sold some BGEIX since stocks have not done anything and got GIS; yes this was good timing because mining stocks started getting hit afterwards; I bought in 2003-2004 timeframe so I consider myself very lucky

    what is this anti conspiracy crusade? FDR confiscated 660,000,000 oz of gold by paying up about $20 oz and turned around and raise its price by 75% to about $35 oz and that's not cheating the people? you need a reality check if you think this acceptable!!! if you had any common sense like many of you here you should be asking were is this gold.

  • China may be interested in buying ConocoPhillips' (COP) stake in a multinational consortium developing the giant Kashagan oilfield, according to Kazakhstan's oil minister. COP, which has been shedding overseas assets to cut debt and increase its investment in lower-cost U.S. shale oil and gas, has said it intends to sell its Kashagan stake to India's Oil and Natural Gas Corp. [View news story]

    I only bring it up because I used to own Line stock, I did good, but I had to sell when reports where circulating that all this fracking is not good to ground water supply but now apparently it is ok by the EPA; I hope the Saudies don't drop the petro$$, that's even worst

    Chavez from Venezuela started this avalanche when he asked the gold back from London and the Fed; then MF Global was raided by JPM for the physical accounts, if you remember, now Germany asked and now Swiss passed petition; so more events like this will happen more; after all Chavez was not stupid asking for the gold
