$200 Oil Is Coming While We Waste a Perfectly Good Crisis (Part 3)

This is a no brainer. Oil price will go up. The supply is finite. As the easly accessible oil reserves are used up the cost of recovery from secondary and tertiary methods are no longer viable for profit seekers. The demand for oil will not go away. It may be deminished for awhile but it will increase as populations increase and nations are unable or unwilling to quickly move to alternative sources of energy. Oil for energy is not the only concern. If it moves it has to be greased. The number of consumable products that use petroleum is amazing. You can analze it all you want but the bottom line is that there ain't a replacement that we can use universally for years to come.

Why Oil Will Head Higher

I have been around the oil induustry for 60 years. Oil will go up, $40-50 oil is not going to promote exploration or revocery from shale and sand. Drillers are already backing off. Oil men are slowly learning that puting their $$$ into future profits in oil is riisky at best. Why produce more oil so that the price can go down? It is a business.

Does Ethanol Deserve the Blame for Rising Food Prices?

In South Texas a large number of fields previously used to grow cotton and sorgum are now planted in corn. I assume that is becoming more common throughout Texas and I wonder if it is an issue with these replaced commodities?

The Real Solution to the Energy Problem

Excellent proposal. My one big concern is the imapct of some sort of electronic terrorist threat either domestic or foreign that would shut down systems.
