I'm a recently retiree who was in high-end residential construction for the last twelve years winning numerous awards for best in class. Prior to that, I spent twenty years doing technology turnarounds in the software and the turnkey systems area. My career's formative years were spent in advertising account management, followed by thirteen years in various systems engineering, education and management jobs with IBM. I have two degrees from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. I maintain five portfolios including a municipal bond, a 401K, an income focused, a commodity focused and a technology focused. The muni portfolio has minimal growth and returns 7+%. The 401K is focused on large cap growth with some yield. The income focused looks first for income getting in excess of 8% and total return of 13%. The commodity which is a long term hold is focused on gold and silver and is currently down 20%. The technology, in existence for a third of a year, is returning 15%.
