For many, I don't think Afreeza obviates the need for basal insulin injection.

How much more expensive do you expect Afrezza to be. I've read one guestimate of 10%-20% more than Novolog. Do you think insurance would balk at such a figure?

  • Why MannKind Is My 2014 Short Pick In Healthcare [View article]
Does anyone know much about a recently approved oral medication for T2 diabetes. It's called Invokana (canagliflozin) and works by reducing the reabsorption of glucose from the kidney back into the bloodstream. I'm not knowledgeable enough to understand if this will give Afrezza a run for its money or when one is indicated and the other is not.

  • Ecosphere Technologies Inc.: A Diversified Water Engineering Company With Significant Long-Term Upside Potential [View article]
What really tells me that ESPH technology is irrelevant is if it's got all this wiz-bang tech why isn't being adopted much, much, much more quickly. With water scarcity in TX (cleaning flowback would help enormously and save millions of gallons) and everyone worried about fracking fluids polluting the water table, it seems energy companies should be busting down ESPH's door. But that's not happening. Certainly the technology has been around long enough and I think Mgmt has touted it long enough. They even had a JV a few years ago with a well-regarded player in the energy sector, and there was lots of fanfare at the beginning, but that died, as surely as all the other hype. So my concern is, if the tech is so superior, why is it being adopted sooooooo slowly.

Well Tom, I'll certainly give you an A for effort but, as they say, you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still....you know. I think the most important aspect of any biz is management. EPSH's current management seems to be quite a bit too self-enriching and self-serving for my tastes. I learned this the hard way. I still own a few thousand shares @ an approx 80% loss. But why sell now, I figure. Hoping for a miracle.

Thanks for an excellent, very thorough, illuminating report and for saving me a lot of time doing the research myself. .....Truthfully, I could never have done this myself. It's a real eye-opener on what those at the top can do when they control all the strings. I sold all in the mid- and lower-20s. I guess we'll see in few days.

I think part of the answer to your question may be that today's inflation readings reflect a very slow economic recovery and it seems likely if/when the economy starts to pick up speed, inflation will rise with along with it. Then the escalators will kick in.
